They are literally systematically enforced to worship Mao. Their churches were destroyed and crosses were beheaded and made into Mao worship centers. Tiennemin Square is proof that many Chinese people were unhappy but they got silenced. I don't blame Chinamen for conceding and convincing themselves Mao made their lives better and that they "can't complain" given the brutality of defying commie leaders.

The Gulag system was pretty shitty, it wasn't all that bad in regards to the number of people that were ever in it though; it's all time high of like over 2 million was in 1942 or 1943 so obviously most of those people were German POWs. Another system that was pretty shitty was the internal exile system since it was also a means of trying to make places like Central Asia and Siberia more Russian both in numbers and culturally. Overall the worst thing you could actually point to as being a bad thing during the Stalin era would be the Holodomor but even then, a famine happening isn't gonna be all that uncommon for a place like Russia in the early 20th century and it likely would've been way worse had Russia been controlled by the whites.

see now i think that iceberg lettuce, in a small amount, is the best type of lettuce for a BLT. i find that the light crisp of the iceberg compliments the heavy texture and saltiness of the bacon. im glad that we cleared this up.
I think iceberg lettuce is better in coleslaw and on salads personally but I can understand where you're coming from. Some lettuce offer a finer crunch to me which compliment a nice softer oven baked bacon slice.
