In the end, Yarvin, Thiel, and whoever else really just want these types in charge of managing the government and somehow get away with fashioning it "technocratic"
Thiel and these types piss me off because it's all just autism that fulfils the role of free marketing.
These people skinwalk different personas to give the illusion of being greater than the sum of their parts. Remember Reddit's perception of Elon pre-Trump? They
all do it, and both supporters and detractors fall for it. For instance: "Palantir" is just, in effect, a localised instance of Google Drive with AI self-sorting. It's been overblown into being this giga-tyrannical software because people ultimately fell for Thiel's marketing and because they haven't actually gone to the software's website to see what it is. Being a "nerd" but also a "visionary" (even if it's tyrannical) is apart of the kayfabe. It gives the illusion of intelligence/wisdom beyond most people. Thiel's open comments opposing democracy whilst he operates Palantir gives the illusion that his technology will be efficient and all powerful, which someone in the Trump admin if not Trump himself definitely fell for.
The younger/tech-bro billionaires all understand the economy is pretty much fake and gay, and so your words have as much impact as determining stock value as much as your actions do. Once Elon name-dropped Dogecoin, sold a shit ton of it he already had before the bubble subsequently burst, and no consequence came of that, he pretty much laid the table out for how these types can raise the value of their companies without making buybacks necessary. By making themselves public figures, they can get away with saying ridiculous shit or make implications that can positively impact stock value without themselves being liable for market manipulation. The only reason other businesses aren't doing this is because their CEOs are usually appointed businessmen who don't possess the autism, or have the want for celebrity and subsequently try to imitate it. Edit: Forgot to mention: the closest modern businesses get to doing this without personifying the business with their CEOs is either proliferating memes (which McDonalds does with some success a la Grimace Shake) or doing tone-deaf, costly shit like Apple's Extrapolations movie.
The "tech bros" aren't retarded, but neither are they capable of grand Machiavellian schemes or in active pursuit of world domination. George Soros has done more indirectly than Thiel has, and I'm coming around to the idea that this was all just some grand game to manipulate currency rather than affect change to his personal ideological benefit.
