I don't know how many relevant, popular fighting games there were at EVO in 2005 so I made the assumption it was a main event at the time. Checking now, Wikipedia seems to list it as if it was a main event along with the rest of the games like Street Fighter 3 and MvC2.

It was half the problem that DSP was the only one who knew what the port was, otherwise they wouldn't have dropped out of the tournament the day it started.

Well, it depends on exactly why the boycott occured. If players flew out from Japan thinking they're playing a standard version of a game only to find out they're playing a bad port then it makes sense to boycott. However, if they knew what they were getting into and just threw a fit then yeah, they were being faggots and I also would've just ignored their unofficial tournament like you said.

Phil's stuck in the mindset that everything the detractors and restreamers do belong to him, to include any profits. The problem being, no one bothered to sit him down and try to explain that when doing shit like this, Phil needs to show loss of business as he thinks the restreamers are taking viewership and donations away from him. The biggest problem, and it being that I don't really watch everyone; there's very little, if any, proof of stealing business. Phil can point and scream that they're stealing his business/views; but consider how many people Phil insulted and banned, they want to go somewhere and bitch, which isn't allowed in his chat. Imagine being deposed and having a lawyer ask you why you restream or watch a restreamer; only to tell them "I want to yell into the void and call Phil a greedy fucking faggot who overfeeds his horse wife, and I can't do that in his chat." Or you can argue it's for critique, because he doesn't allow criticism in his chat. It also wouldn't surprise me that he caught wind of the H3 suing the breadtubers and fails to understand the differences, especially that Ethan submitted his video the Copyright Office before making it public on YouTube. Yes there's the generic "You own the copyright to your content," but Ethan took the extra step to ensure he's in a legal position to assert authority, on top of being selective about who he targets and why.

I'm not gonna say it's a fool's errand, as the courts are insane; but just a laymen glimpse at it and with how vaccuous Phil's head is, as well as his finances, he's fucking retarded if he thinks he'll be able to strong arm or get people to dox themselves for some fucking license.
