LAS VEGAS (WKRC) - Are you an UNO master?

If so, now's your chance to show off your skills while winning some money.

According to KSNV, a social club themed around UNO is coming soon to the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. It's a luxury suite that's based off the popular card game. Additionally, it's the first entry in the launch of UNO Social Clubs around the United States.

The goal of the club is to start a nationwide campaign that turns "casual game nights into full-blown entertainment events." At the Palms Casino Resort, the suite will feature vibrant card-game-inspired decor with gaming tables, private dealers, various UNO games and expansions, and multiple other amenities, according to the casino.

Here's what you can expect from some of the games:

  • UNO Golf™: Match cards by colors and numbers, but your cards are laid out as you try to get rid of high cards and keep lower-value cards. Strategically clear columns to eliminate cards, but beware of cards that can raise your score. The player with the lowest score wins!
  • UNO Teams™: Players still match color, number, and symbol, but instead of every-man-for-himself, they team up in pairs of two and play together to win. Special cards and rules help teammates work together, but both players must get rid of all the cards in their hands to win.
  • UNO Show 'em No Mercy™: This game has a ton more cards with WAY tougher penalties and new rules that will have players stacking, swapping, and drawing more cards than ever before! There are two ways to win in this merciless version of the classic game: get rid of all cards OR knock all other players out of the game.
“We created UNO Social Clubs to reimagine what game night can be — bringing people together for real-world fun, connection, and a bit of friendly competition,” said Ray Adler, vice president and global head of games at Mattel, according to Business Wire. “The UNO Social Club in Las Vegas is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see how these new experiences inspire players to show up, play hard and make unforgettable memories.”

According to a release from Palms Casino Resort, more clubs will be opening across the United States in 2025, with experiences in "bars and venues" in major U.S. cities. The release also said that each one of these openings will come with UNO-themed drink menus, tournament-style play, photo moments and more.

I like Uno as it's a fun game with friends (if they aren't no-fun losers who have a 1-draw limit) but it's basically 100% RNG and I have an equal chance of winning or losing. It also depends a lot on house rules because everybody has that "friend" who will call you on not saying Uno the microsecond you take your second-to-last card out of your hand.

Zoomers don't know how to play any card games other than UNO.
As if 90% of gamblers don’t just stare blankly at slot machines anyway.

Fun Fact for those who don't know: The Uno App has been conditioning people for this for years. It's basically a soft gambling app where you wager coins to play.
I’m shocked that casinos didn’t pick up on how most phones games are just gambling earlier. This seems overdue.

my family has a house rule that you can hold on to a pick up 2 card and us it when one is played against you to make the person next pick up 4 cards. this can go on for as long as permitted.
or a reverse card can be used to pass on the the pickups to the previous player, likewise, a skip turn card can be used to make the person after the one who missed his turn pick up the cards
is this cannon? do any of you do this?
likewise. you dont have to play a card on your turn even if you have one that can be used, but you must draw a card if one isn't played on your turn

Using draw cards to pass on the effects of other draw cards in such a manner is a long-accepted part of the UNO® Oral Torah

I play the same rules. It makes the game more fun, more fair and usually ends it pretty quickly when the power-cards get smashed.
I didn't know they weren't the rules tbh.

Picture this, me watching two of my classmates playing with my Uno deck sitting at the table right next to the classroom door, they start arguing about the game rules, it gets heated very fast, one of them gets a backpack and swings at the other, he ducks, the teacher... this poor old lady is entering the classroom as the backpack is missing the one that ducked and hitting her right in the face BAM full power she lost balance, heavy stagger. I CAN STILL HEAR THE SCREAM THAT SHE LET OUT 10+ YEARS FUCKING LATER.

Anyways she sits at the same bench as me on Sunday at Church, don't think she remembers me, but I do remember her telling me to not bring that Fucking Uno deck to school again.

Can't wait to see the bloodshed this will generate.

I mean, the only games I can think of that generates such animosity among players is like Monopoly, Sorry, Aggravation, and fucking Diplomacy. I don’t think they want to get into that kind of stuff though.

Now the local police will have to walk back and forth from the Craps tables and the UNO tables!
I will observe from afar, playing mahjong with 3 old asian grandmas, an expat, and Thomas (the guy who takes my order at happy wok).
We need to do better for our boys in blue...

it actually gives the game a degree of strategy, according to the actual rules you have to draw 2 cards, only then can you make the next player pick up 2 cards,
according to da official rules, the game is to be %100 random
