I have had this nagging feeling that the Epstein stuff is getting intentionally magnified in the media. It has been stated already that this has been a unequivocal failing, and I imagine democrats were waiting for something they could latch onto. This seems to be what Trump is trying to say here. I think, he's got a very special way of saying things.
That being said... I don't really see how stating it will help. "Look, Trump wants you to stop looking at it! What is he hiding?" has already been a response and they can simply spin it up again. Calling out those who are concerned about it just strengthens that claim.
Now, is this topic going to be the hot topic for the next 1.5 years? Hell no. However, if this story is removed from the news cycle without resolution, I would very well imagine some 'helpful reminders' start floating around when midterms start. I personally think the best move, if the case can't be made public, is to call out the Biden administration for their convenient inaction and silence over the case. Weaken the democrats ability to use it as a silver bullet against Trump. And, of course, highlight the good that has been done by this administration that could've only been done with the republican majority to motivate people who would otherwise sit out the midterms.
