In completely unrelated news, has anyone ever read the Trevanian spy-spoof novels from the 70's? The first one, "The Eiger Sanction" was made into a film, one of Clint Eastwoods' early director runs, and was pretty fun really. Not a terrible film either. Eastwood had to learn mountain-climbing for the film. I read it back in 2023 and only more recently got around to the sequel.

The second novel is called "The Loo Sanction", a bit more on-the-nose as a James Bond-parody. It involves the main character from the previous book, a CIA assassin and art-critic, who is blackmailed by a corrupt MI6-spinoff organization called The Loo (there's a whole backstory on how it got its nickname).

The plot is pretty simple. Tell me if you've heard this one:

A wealthy man named Max Strange runs a sexclub called The Cloisters that caters to the weirder tastes of the perverted rich and powerful. He is secretly making films of the sexual perversions of men high up in the government at the club, presumably to blackmail them. The Loo want the CIA assassin to recover a set of these films and kill Strange. The big twist is that The Loo doesn't intend on shutting down the operation, but just want Strange out of the way so they can take over The Cloisters and use the blackmail material to become self-sufficient budgetarily and control British government policy from then on.

Seems pretty obvious that Epstein was working for the CIA (Maxwell is obviously Mossad, like her father was), because there's no way this sort of operation happens without US intel having their hand in it. At the very least, they'd have been watching Maxwell like a hawk due to her sister and father, and would've gotten involved on day one.

And that's why we can't release anything from the files. Since the CIA can't legally spy on US soil, all the blackmail material Epstein collected is inadmissible as evidence, so we can't really prosecute his clients. Not to mention the US probably doesn't want to admit to yet another illegal CIA operation carried out against US citizens, especially an operation that involved CIA and Mossad assets collecting underage girls to be raped.

Come to that, if I'm right, then if Trump releases anything, he'll just be opening the Federal Government to being sued by a bunch of pedos, who will get billions in taxpayer money in the inevitable settlements for defamation and entrapment. That's actually worse than just not releasing anything. Real rock and a hard place scenario.

Probably the only real way to use Epstein's files is to keep them secret, and serve as blackmail to pressure a few politicians to vote for a trade deal or whatever. At least until the day AI deepfakes make video blackmail useless.

I really do think your VASTLY overestimating the political support the left has going forward, Trump is fucking up and will likely cost his faction his mandate but your missing the forest for the tree, when Trump won in 2024 it wasent a "rebuke" of the hyper progressive movement, politically, it was a shattering.

I’m a conspiracy guy, and like to think I generally read the room temperature alright, but genuinely I ain’t got no idea what’s up with the Epstein situation.
To me it feels like there’s something big we just don’t know anything about, and if we just wait and see how this runs it’s course things could get pretty interesting.
But I don’t believe it’s a party thing, every other ring I know of has been acting beyond the lines of political parties. That’s kind of how high levels of power work, really, but this is weird either way so let’s see how it goes.

I think its a something big we are all being distracted from. Epstein was old news by the time he went mainstream, which also was around the time Pizzagate started getting traction. One got the full court press to silence discussion, and the other has become mainstream.

I'm still annoyed at the sudden 180 at releasing these documents, but anyone who seriously thinks that Trump is hiding it because he's a pedo is a fucking moron, full stop. There's nothing to remotely support that notion.

True, but it's hard to blame people for having their doubts. I mean, Trump was a businessman in 1970's New York; there's no way that his friends didn't get up to anything suspicious, and people have good reason to believe he has a personal stake in protecting people connected to Epstein, even if there's not much to suggest he's a nonce himself.

Obviously all the drumming about it now from journos is pure realpolitik, but it sure feels like Trump is deliberately playing coy to stir up the shitstorm.
