For example, in Melton's thread people already had a pretty good idea about that house that he is mooching off of Slow Wife based on property records, but it wouldn't be unheard of for a beard to leave her gay "husband" or vice versa, and sometimes couples just up and move out together, so it's still informative to have an actual on-the-ground confirmation that an address is still current with a timestamp.
