Yes, This. I was a half fatty (240 lbs) when I joined. I went to Ft Benning before it was totally cucked, and while the first 3 weeks totally sucked as all of my platoon's Drill Sergeants were Infantry, it is still a fond memory. Would i want to do it again? fuck no. But it wasn't completely horrible.
Glad I did it, wouldn't do it again, or if I did I'd know to negotiate harder. And yes, as long as you aren't completely crippled Bootcamp is more mental than physical (though they will get your cookie dough ass in shape)- show up
at the correct time 10 minutes before in the right uniform, yell "Drill Sarent Yes Drill Sarent" to everything, drink water, don't get caught sleeping when you aren't supposed to.
But the number of people would just could not hack it that was sort of crazy. We had about 100 people in the company and probably 10ish people who RTTed. Actually what was really nuts was we had probably people wash out in our AIT which was
significantly more chill. And that was before zoomers were old enough to enlist.
None but I never did any in the military and most vets didn't either. Unless you're in an all male MOS and unit, there is no chance in hell they're going to make a foid do that. Quarter the miles and the weight and you're approaching the kind of punishment your average vet faced.
That wsa common in basic (well shorter distances but heavy pack until final ruk) and after it did happen, but it wasn't regular and my MOS wasn't all male. Mostly it was down to our commander being a smalldick and deciding we needed to march with the infantry since I guess he was being roasted at the officers club for his unit's PT scores or some dumb gay shit like that.
Regardless, I bet 3 miles carrying anything heavier than a baconator is more than the average KWF poster has walked, lifetime, let alone in one go.
There is a huge number of shitbergs in the military, just serving doesn't make anyone a hero, but noodle armed incels trying to shade the entire contingent because of whatever stupid libtard/jelly/Chicom propaganda reasons irks me.
