When you're on the side of the maligned underdogs you tend to pick achievable, justified goals like 'defending ourselves' or 'stopping heavy-handed thugs from victimising our people' because anything else is overreach, and you naturally end up looking decent because you're doing decent things. It's not until public opinion sways in your favour that you realise you can get away with a lot, lot more, like idk, chasing out all the black families in the neighborhood and murdering literally all the Jews (or hell, just gleefully suckerpunching people for giving pepe interviews you don't like).
Neo-Nazis aren't randomly curbstomping the fuck out of random bystanders because they know society won't tolerate them doing that. Yet.

Neo-Nazis usually have some reason for violence, like it being against actual political enemies. They're not going to attack randos because it does nothing for them.
Antifa also doesn't explicitly go out and say we're going to attack randos, it's just that they're so staggeringly incompetent they often do just that.

The opposition is composed entirely of cowardly Internet tough guys and literal 98 pound girls. And they're begging for it.
They have generously provided casus belli, you're allowed to hit back, and best of all, nobody really cares. These people have made themselves obnoxious enough that on video in this very thread, bystanders cheered cops delivering a beatdown instead of calling them jackbooted thugs.

I dunno, there are a few Nazi, or at least similar, groups that got into trouble for waxing random people. Didn't that happen to the Aryan Nation when they beat up an unfortunate white woman because they thought the sound of her car backfiring was a gunshot? It was the Victorian Keenan case, I think.

Members of white supremacist groups used to assault and murder random innocent people (and occasionally launched actual invasions of foreign nations) all the time for doing things that offended their sensibilities, like race-mixing or being openly gay or just being the wrong colour in the wrong town, but that's extremely rare post-911. Partially because the average streetlevel knucklehead worries more about ay-rabs blowing up his family than he cares about homos or miscegenation, but mainly because the government got a whole slew of anti-terrorist options opened to them after 911, and white supremacist orgs have either been dismantled and their leaders jacked up hard and flipped into snitches, or they've preemptively clamped down on their members committing random hate crimes out of fear of being labelled domestic terrorists.
Nowadays attacks from organised white supremacists are extremely rare unless they're attributed to white prison gangs, which aren't a political/racial movement so much as regular crack-peddling gangbangers with a little nazi flair inked on. There's still going to be the occasional nutter like Dylan Roof, but groups like WAR and the KKK simply won't condone violence done by their members anymore and actively try to stamp out that kind of behaviour.

You know, originally the things were in Antifa's favour. They're more uniformed and organized and seem to be able to "sneak" weaponry past folks like the useless bastards Berkeley P.D. However, this is where the advantages simply stop.
Beyond the odd street fight and "dead fishing" that means you have to get four people to drag them away they have little ability to fight, they can pick on randos and women and children because a good chunk of these people have been bullied all their lives and the black uniform of Antifa gives them that small kernel of power, probably the first they've felt they've ever had in their lives.
Antifa is primarily made up of drones. People who have never achieved anything of any serious note, with little in the way of outstanding achievement like personality, humour, or skill and so can willingly subsume themselves into "The Cause" something far larger than themselves. The issue is Antifa is made up almost entirely of drones with its officer class being either far from the battlefields, or simply have no force of personality and will to enforce discipline.
In other words, while they may look initially scary and unified, they break very easily, as seen at Berkeley and elsewhere when they come against an opposing force. Washington D.C was the same, where their drones were busy fighting in the streets, their organizers were busy in a "command centre" in a Starbucks some streets away using the WiFi and sipping cappuccinos.
In comparison you now have both random suburbanites uniting and the rise of the Alt-Knights. The latter group is able to fight and issue out commands loud enough to others to get the random suburbanite mob to act closer to a fighting force, even when unarmed and seemingly disorganised. In other words, on the "Trump" side there's now an emergent officer class. While people like "Based Stickman" is the first, as we're rapidly seeing he's not on his own. The Spartan, Deus Vult, Gasmask Man the Fed Ex dude you're basically looking at a ridiculous era of costumes vigilantes who know what they're doing on the streets in a rumble.
Again, you can see it in the battle of Berkley where people like that were roaring out commands to charge and stop advancing when they got too far ahead after Antifa broke.
I honestly would not be surprised if, before too long, we saw people from the S.A.C making an appearance and helping to organise people, shields and sticks are very similar to the stuff they faff around with after all.
