Do people do this? Back when I was a kid and my family made me go to church, we’d just attend the mass and leave. Even when I stayed with my grandparents in a different city for one summer we’d go to the twice weekly mass then straight home. In my entire time as a “catholic” my family never once tried to fit in, there was no community, and we never spoke to anyone. Even when I had to go to Sunday school we just went and left, no youth group, no activities, just an extra class on Sunday.
