I find it interesting that all the time I spent lurking on this website The site actually follows its own rules, and Josh isn't selective about it.

I think a huge difference is that the site culture doesn't encourage people to constantly get MATI and if anything if someone starts getting overly engaged they end up getting swiftly mocked for it. Those snark subreddits really do seem absolutely steeped in people get more and more MATI without anyone pointing out that it's kind of pathetic to get that worked up over a stranger on the internet. It just seems like they need to step away and touch grass.
