S.401 - Fair Access to Banking Act

Someone mentioned above thread how this will eventually change because the government will go "Oh, it's ta dollars I'm missing!". I don't think that's true. I think that the government - all governments - like this, and will carry on liking this. It allows them, through pressuring NGO's and in turn getting pressured by the NGO's they like, to essentially bypass basic civil liberties and disseminate the means of harassing and fucking with people to private organisations that they can nominally whip into line at any time they feel like it.

The people in charge of the world have an agenda, and it largely is the same between parties, with the only difference being time scales; and maybe some minor scope changes. I think that there will be no big 'wakeup' moment, and that people need to try and pressure their government as much as they can to get them see how much a terrible thing it is, for these companies to have defacto financial control. The world has moved on, I wish cash were king and I wish the money was backed by something. It isn't, and the people at the very top don't care. However the people you and I can reach can be made to care.

I know a lot of people will go 'Ah but it's a waste of time to try since they won't listen!' Which would be a compelling argument except for the fact that the time will pass regardless, and (((you))) don't use it for anything that productive anyways. I harass my MP all the time, and the faggot responds every now and again and gets into an argument with me when I've baited him on some random shit. It may be screaming into the void as an individual, but collectively that does get shit done.

It's not about the insults, but how this nigga keeps exploding into angry rants that makes it less likely for people to listen to him, as well as contributing to the image of "turbovirgin in a serbian basement that raped women on Blockland 14 years ago" that he wants to distance from
It's because Null is an angry sperg. He's just correct. He's like Terry Davis, but more put together.

Too bad the crypto fantasy world put forth by Bitcoiners and others never materialized.
While crypto has saved the site, the people who happily sit on the sidelines and just spam "Crypto/Bitcoin/Monero fixes this" while fingering their asshole are only contributing to the slow death of the country. We are not going to see mainstream adoption of bitcoin and if we did it would be regulated just as hard. It basically already is. Try getting BTC without doing a colorectal biometric exam for the platform.

I haven't even heard of the details of that part of the Patriot Act before now (Not living inside the US) before this. Guess this did not happen earlier because they don't have the means to execute it internationally and on the Internet back then.
Governments like passing laws, and alterations to laws, that they don't immediately act on. They let them sit for a few years, and then implement them, so by the time they roll it out in full; people have stopped giving a shit, and the matter is seen as "Settled."

Null, I know you're probably going to read this given your activity. Please man, for the first and maybe the last time I'm going to sincerely encourage you with human dignity to mend your ego and harden it against this cow-shit temper tantrum behavior being thrown at you. The idiocy is rubbing off and where before I would have laughed at you, I genuinely want you to break through it this time.

They can and should be entirely ignored
The problem is that they end up taking 20 of the 25 pages.

At the one hand we have a guy with a drooling dog trying to explain how everyone is getting reamed by a shadowy cabal of payment processors that can and will ream your asshole bloody if you do anything naughty.

At the other hand we have elites that organize underage sex parties funded by money they skim off of every card payment.

But somehow people don't side with the drooling dog because he called some women holes and other people cattle. If this is some kind of formal debate, the tone is bad, but this is kiwifarms. Why didn't the nigger/kike/moid/femoid/etc you've read 500 times before make you leave? Why is this the moment you decide to care about the words used? Just learn to make your eyes glaze over when you see things you don't like. Thats internet 101 if you go outside the playpen of facebook/google.

Too bad the crypto fantasy world put forth by Bitcoiners and others never materialized. In a world where crypto was more prevalent, these "processors" lose much of their powers.
The only thing crypto seems to be good at in 2025 is being a store of value, like gold bullion, and useful for if you want to purchase some gray market goods.
AFAIK there is not even one current cryptocurrency that could handle even 1/3 of VISA's volume, just in the USA.

Until someone figures this out, these few giant corporations will continue to steamroll all the citizens. They pay off or "incentivize" who they have to in our government to keep the party going.
Republicans and Dems both are in their pocket.

There's a fart's chance in the wind of having anyone in the Federal government work against the payment networks in a big way.
Crypto is a scam. If you look at the entire NFT videogames arc then you'll see why. Even if the government does not regulate it you'll end up with a bunch of clowns with devalued virtual banknotes that cannot be used for anything beyond a very limited range of stuff.

Also you do not work against payment networks. You work against the Commonwealth states giving orders to them.

One of the biggest scams in the world is how the Republican Party and Democratic Party actually agree on many things (banking system, military industrial complex, draft system, many such examples). They just pretend to be different so America fights about stuff that doesn't affect the powers that be revenue stream.
The Far Left and the Far Right share most of the same ideologies as well. It's a Scam. If you look at the Groypers they have skins as thin as any SJW.

To be fair I'd be pretty pissed off too if I were even near his level of persecuted.
It'd be more acceptable if it wasn't literal years since it begun. And Jersh was spergy before the founding of this forum. Fighting with random retards on the internet is a waste of energy, but to be fair, so is this thread for the most part
We have the government we deserve, and we deserve to be fed feet-first into a meat grinder to feed the ruling elite because we're fucking stupid cardcattle retard niggers.

You can still trade cash for BTC and use a local wallet (or otherwise get creative) but I agree the appeal of it has been truly fucked by inane KYC laws. Or the big entities like Paypal and Coinbase being niggers, charging huge fees for crumbs of crypto. Just another thing payment processors helped ruin.

caring about shit and being frustrated at the total and complete ineptitude of the masses you actually want to help is just soooo spergy bro... just take the gen x pill and smoke pot and cum to lolis and rot and decay and wait to die bro. it's super cringe to like, invest emotionally in the future.

I think an excellent way to raise awareness would be a campaign to get people to post themselves cutting their credit cards in half out of protest. One angle in the front, one angle in the back just to really show it to these Processor losers. You can also say the general area where you live so we can show just how wide spanning this movement is! Would anybody like to start?

Most normal people aren't affected.
I get what you're saying and understand the sentiment from further posts, but I also am going to use this single line as a springboard for a big time sperg post to reinforce the opposite of "Nobody cares because it's not their problem" from here on out.

Spoilering to not fuck the readability of the thread into the goddamn dirt.

A surprising amount do care if you remind them (EARLY AND OFTEN) they're one phone call away from it hitting them too. Even if there's not a noble intent behind the support of the masses you can make them work to save their own hides. Or worse yet for the eternal joe punchclock, their bread and circuses being fucked with.

And given that the same group got their foot in the door with the payment processors by slashing and burning the easy targets of weirdos and their creep content they're absolutely going to double back and resume their original targets and focus towards anything that depicts violence against X group ever, even if it's supportive of their ideology.

Remember, in the weeds of the gooners that the group that got the recent credit to get processors to bend the knee were angling for a ban of a fairly big even if not blockbuster sales or reach game (Detroit: Become Human) because it had an abusive drunk loser in it beating his robot maid and kid.

Even though you could shoot him and the message was that he was a bad man and his actions were bad

And a whole lot of people from your grandpa to your sister to pastor melvin to the most hood people around watch media with some violence in it regardless of depiction or context or play games where the method of interaction is the bog standard vehicle of violence.

And IMO, the people on the side of the group for now are likely going to start mouthing "what the fuck" under their breath should the time come when their awareness raising pet projects start getting the axe because of it when they fall under the expanding umbrella of not being marketplace approved as well.

I feel like if the logical conclusion of this plays out it's going to make for a lot of strange temporary allies much like the trans kerfuffle has.

So this is only technically true for now, but as "most normal people" start to fall under the wrong think enjoyer category, which encompasses a ton of people who consume media already, on top of the more politically agitated which is already the case in a growing number of places here and now with the e-muzzle comparatively freshly torn off.

And more people are now freely speaking about things you couldn't dare mention or oppose compared to the total janny domination clamp down it had before in 2016.

And given the vibe shift compared to the great eggshell walk-fest of the internet from 2016 and onward by comparison a fucking avalanche of people are less afraid and criticizing more and more. I don't think it's a forever sustainable situation of freely letting a rogue middleman without any accountability be able to just turn off the ability to pay their bills or buy groceries on a whim or dictate what they can and can't sell as the whitelist shrinks and the blacklist grows.

So it does affect everyone,
Even if they don't think it or know it yet. They probably will eventually, especially if they overreach too far and too fast.
And hubris goes hand in hand with being a government or corporate entity.

So it's a matter of "When" and not "If" in this case IMO.

Some people also either thought or wanted everyone to think that it wasn't even remotely possible to push back against the great reddit-ification of the internet or criticize people's pet groups ever again as well, but that's swinging a little the other way too. Even if it's not as fast as people would like and not hitting as many targets as it should.
So it is still something. Which is a hell of a lot more than the repeated "nothing, you can do nothing ever. Just lie on the floor and let it happen like my check signer told me to tell you :'(." types would have you think. Regardless if they are doing it for free or are being paid a pittance to do it in front of a wall of smartphones.

I remind everyone in general, it takes a few people to start to point and go "Look at this bullshit" and make it understandable to others. Then it takes time for it to become a few thousand saying "They're doing that shit again." to establish a pattern that even a facebook mom can mentally digest and repeat until on a long enough timeline it transforms from terminally online esoterica to common knowledge.

Low hanging fruit examples: Most things that were only seen on old image boards and the farms are now right there on aunt helen's FB or Instagram reels with a few hundred thousand impressions and interactions, ranging from crime stat correlations, all the flavors of the LGBT rainbow dirty laundry, the existence and operations of blackrock, AIPAC and the existence of other lobbyists and interest groups.

TL;DR summary: Some people like to wallow on the floor and groan and piss about things being pointless or over, but often forget that if any sort of fighting it was pointless and unstoppable then the "powers that B" wouldn't need to continue to burn massive amounts of money and their own credibility in a giant furnace 24/7 while ceaselessly financing a few hundred turbo janny groups online for the sake of counter spamming the internet in order to constantly push back if it didn't have an effect. And they especially wouldn't be seething and throwing tantrums online if it didn't get under their skin or fuck up their mechanations on some level.

To paraphrase the magical juice that turns you red merchant and known homosexual amphibition awareness guy.
People might just be breaking the conditioning or at least capable of it.

Also thank you fatpacks for your mark of the oracle, letting me know that you agree fully and that it's 100% coming to pass. You've given me hope in these trying times. :semperfidelis:

In Null’s defense, it’s pretty disheartening and frustrating when you’ve seen this shit happen dozens of times over the years, and yet everybody acts like the latest incident is the only one because they’re either barely old enough to legally order a beer, have the memory of a goddamn goldfish, or both simultaneously.

now that we fully moved on from whining about irrelevant bullshit, which senator should we cry to so he can make an adequate bill
The senators who sponsored the bill, Kevin Cramer of Nevada, seems like a good start IMO. Sure, the bill is inadequate as is, but bills go though TONS of drafts before they get passed and sent off to the president.

Here's all the people who sponsored the bill besides Cramer:
Mr. Banks, Mr. Barrasso, Mrs. Blackburn, Mr. Boozman, Mrs. Britt, Mr. Budd, Mrs. Capito, Mr. Cassidy, Mr. Cornyn, Mr. Cotton, Mr. Crapo, Mr. Cruz, Mr. Curtis, Mr. Daines, Ms. Ernst, Mrs. Fischer, Mr. Graham, Mr. Hagerty, Mr. Hoeven, Mrs. Hyde-Smith, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Justice, Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Lankford, Ms. Lummis, Mr. Marshall, Mr. McCormick, Mr. Moran, Mr. Moreno, Mr. Mullin, Mr. Ricketts, Mr. Risch, Mr. Schmitt, Mr. Scott of Florida, Mr. Scott of South Carolina, Mr. Sheehy, Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Tillis, Mr. Tuberville, and Mr. Wicker
This page has a link to all their Congress.gov pages, which in turn has contact info:

In addition, this bill goes to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. Lobbying all those members as well is necessary, since way too many bills die in committee. Members are below:
You also need to keep an eye on the the bill in the house, which is this one:
Co-sponsor links for this bill:
This bill goes to the House Financial services committee, members are below:

Working on a plug and play pdf lobbying letter, maybe a memorandum too. Will post later when I'm done, hopefully by EOW.

Remember, while writing your own Senator's and Representatives is great, you can lobby and write to other ones as well. Hell, even your state reps and senators and your governor. Actual lobbyist lobby EVERYONE, you can too.

Edit: also attaching some lobbying guides and advocacy letter guides for those who want to write their own or do more work. If you write your own letter, I'd strongly suggest proofreading it, and maybe picking up a style guide like Strunk and White's Elements of Style and maybe an advocacy writing book like something by Bryan Garner (the latter is more for legal writing though, but if you can get it on the high seas it's useful for all persuasive writing IMO.)
