These people live off daddy's credit card and believe a Marxist Revolution that's going to bring AI powered luxury space communism is just around the corner. They would literally think you going "where are people supposed to work" is evidence of stockholm syndrome or a mental disorder or being a fascist (unspoken: who needs to be killed).

Remember if you ask these neo-Marxists what they're going to do after the revolution it's shit like "lesbian slam poetry" and "therapist to help people from the institutional trauma of property ownership." Deliver food? Mine for ore? Oh I'm sure SOMEONE will want to do that backbreaking work. Just, you know, not THEM.

I can't tell if the techbros are just lying to them and fully intent on putting them all in a mouse utopia style gulag where the useless eaters will be allowed to die out once AI replaces everyone, or if they're true believers and think they'll make a utopia where everyone gets an AI buddy like Servo from the Sims willing to do all the work while all of humanity does whatever they want. I do know a not insignificant number of them like Jack Dorsey think they're saving the world from humanity so I'm pretty sure they'd have no qualms about putting us all in camps while they turn entire states into luxury parks.

What I find so completely absurd about the situation is this "AI" boom has only been going on for about 7 years, has barely changed industries, and everyone thinks it's going to revolutionize the world. It's like watching the Beanie Babies craze all over again.

Output suddenly becomes super shitty
Company rushes to rehire workers before it’s too late

AI can actually get worse in quality, because as more AI content is generated, whether in written form or in art form, AI will start using other AI as sources to get trained. AI can’t fact check itself either, so you could end up with completely nonsensical scenarios like “Martin Luther was assassinated in 1968, after he wrote the 95 theses.” AI isn’t this bad yet, but it’s completely possible the more often AI is used to write essays (which is becoming a problem in both the K-12 and college age groups). I think AI can be a useful tool, but it can’t replace doing actual research and writing. Execs see this as the new frontier and want to get rich off of it, but it’s not as infallible as they wish it was, and they’re going to learn the hard way.

They don't care if it doesn't work, they're cramming it in everywhere, including every level of govt. It's really a data collection and profiling tool. That's why they openly talk about pre-crime (aka black bagging dissidents and sending them to black sites, which is exactly what Alligator Alcatraz is). This shit is coming and it's going to really suck. Nothing will work and we'll still be surrounded by jeets just with more intense movement tracking and censorship.

It really does feel like a get-rich-quick scheme with a lot of companies. Some have an actual product or business plan but many simply put "AI" in their website and hope it leads to profit.

No, these people really are this stupid. There are people who frequent this thread and can explain it in greater detail if they so desire, but AI slop is not a fucking conspiracy. It really is a bunch of retards flailing in the dark in the hopes of striking gold.

Execs will jump onto any new technology that does the following:
  • Cuts costs
  • Is an emerging technology (AKA, the best time to pounce and gain a monopoly if the tech is successful)
  • Can be used by a wide variety of people, allowing for maximum use (and therefore more money)
  • Can be made into a subscription service that others have to renew regularly in order to use
AI is pretty much their golden goose, so you’ll see them keep pushing it no matter how much people bring up the issues with it. It will probably take AI making very high profile and extremely disastrous mistakes in order for companies to scale back on using it. If companies also get people killed due to AI miscalculations, it’s also ripe for lawsuit (I see this most likely happening with companies trying to use AI for self driving cars, in addition to semis).

In all fairness, AI can absolutely take over the sort of procedural bureaucratic churn work and middling "socially conscious art" doodling that the oversocialized jerk themselves raw over. Instead of taking this to mean that any retard could do those jobs, the middle manager class and their simps instead concluded that a captial powered robot apocalypse is imminent.

Yes, you're absolutely right but it doesn't exclude what I'm saying. Palantir isn't a conspiracy theory. They admit everything in the open and it was created by the DoD. Altho libs and govt are stupid... the point isn't that it works.

The point is to have an excuse based on tech regular people don't understand or see as magic and feels objective. You really should take a look at the level of profiling going on now.
