US Hulk Hogan Dead at 71


Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died at 71 years old, TMZ Sports has learned.

Medics were dispatched to the 71-year-old WWE legend's Clearwater, Florida home early Thursday morning ... with operators stating it was regarding a "cardiac arrest."

We're told a slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan's home ... and the icon was carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance.

Just a few weeks ago, Hogan's wife, Sky, denied rumors he was in a coma ... stating his heart was "strong" as he recovered from surgeries.

We broke the story last month -- there were rumblings Hogan was on his "deathbed" ... but we were told at the time he was just dealing with the symptoms of a neck procedure he underwent in May.

Everyone in wrestling is a scum bag. Hogan is one of the few people able to carry the entire industry on his shoulders and make it mainstream. Whatever his faults and the lies he told, Hulk single handedly fed every wrestlers family from the 80s onward.

He is reviled because he was the biggest star so had the biggest political power back stage. None of those people were complaining when Hulk took the industry from a hotdog and a hand shake to 5 or 6 figure checks. Hulk drew the majority of the audience and that cannot be denied. Every other wrestler in his position would have done the same and many did do the same. Roddy Piper refused to ever lose a match but "that doesn't work for me brother" is a bad thing while Piper gets away with it. But Hogan was protecting the golden goose.

RIP Hulk. Thunderlips better get ready for his rematch with Rocky

Unions aren't always a good thing. The wrestling industry is so full of snakes I can't see any union being in the wrestler's interest. I can see them trying to hold shows hostage with crazy demands.

What about when he demanded Vince rework a main event fucking over Bret Hart so he could run in and be the hero even when his popularity was kinda dying?

Jeff is one of those guys that’ll likely outlive us all. The fact he’s the more mobile Hardy despite the sheer abuse he’s put himself through between dumb spots and drugs says a lot.

You mean when his popularity was dying so hard he switched companies and carried it until it went over the top of WWF?

Bret Hart was huge in Europe and Canada but he wasn't big in America. Hogan protecting Hogan was Hogan protecting the business. We saw what happened when Bret and HBK tried to be the faces of wrestling and it didn't go well for the company.

Hogan was a self interested scum bag, but protecting himself protected everything else in the business.

Hogan didn’t make the WCW big, the NWO arc did and that started with the Outsiders and breaking unspoken rules which brought new interest and entertainment. Then Hogan used that, made about himself again, pulled in every sycophantic asshole willing to dick ride him, and it ended in the dirt like a victim of Jimmy Snooka.

Cardiovascular issues that stem from steroid use is probably the number one killer of pro wrestlers, especially those from Hogan's era. I'm honestly amazed he lived as long as he did considering how juiced up he was.

Jeff Hardy might be a junkie, but he's never been on the sauce. I don't see him making it to 71, though.
