Normally I would say that 7-8 years later one's comments can be ignored if they ain't particularly nasty such as in this case.

I really don't think he does. Anytime you present him with evidence or point out why his behavior is retarded, he just dismisses it as "concern trolling". Someone who leaves their shopping cart in a parking spot and just drives off, someone who drives excessively fast, etc are relatively easy people to “rehabilitate” such that they can give up such behaviors and move on from it.

Then on the opposite end, you have sadistic serial killers, pedophiles, rapists, etc who engage in such degenerate, fucked up behavior that it isn’t so easy to remove the stink of their past simply by letting time pass. Most people would not want anything to do with a serial killer, even with 20 years of time having past since their actions.
