A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Nigger threatens to rape and punch a woman at McDonalds drive thru in Norfolk.

He threatened to punch and rape her because she was crossing the road at a pedestrian Zebra crossing. He almost hit her because he ran a red light, which enraged him.

Naturally, he chickens out when said woman presents him with the opportunity to actually follow through on his threat and gets shy for the camera, and when she asks him to repeat himself for the camera, acts scared like he's about to wet himself.

CONTEXT: He threatened to punch and rape her because she was crossing the road and he turned the corner really suddenly, almost knocking her over as per the CCTV from McDonalds. He then chimped out because she caused a 0.5 second delay between him and his Big Mac. She wasn't in her car, she was a pedestrian.

Of course, he got shy and was too scared to repeat it for the camera, probably because he doesn't want police sniffing around his ket dealing business. The woman was not the aggressor in this case and was actually pretty brave to stand up to a violent nigger ape like this, especially as she was unarmed. TND.

I hope that's what people actually realise. It's this whole fucking democracy scam. 'labour was in power when this happened so it's their fault and the tories must be 100% against it'. This bill is not the result of some retarded individual, it's not keir pulling more bullshit, it is the very base of the government. The people that are responsible for this are not bad actors, they are doing exactly what the government and ruling class as a whole want. Both sides want this and so do all the little underlying people too. The entire system is rotten and they will never go back on this, they might revert the bill if there's enough pressure but they will not change their mind on creating their own chinese firewall. It will not be reverted, it will simply be postponed.

I was going through twitter and just looking at some of the things people say. Normally it's pretty decently split but basically every single post has been on some level of fuck the government. But saw some things that if they were posted here I would (obviously) have no issue talking about but fuck posting publicly on twitter.

There's a decent amount of people talking about that retarded hole organisation. Idk if you remember matt walsh I think was the guy's name, the one who found a ring of paedophiles on youtube and instead of trying to get the police or platform to remove them instead went to cocacola to bitch that he had ads on his child porn. Reminds me of him. There are a retarded number of people who are posting about the collective shout thing now apparently trying to get v/mc to censor twitter. It is possibly the most beautiful example to point to of niggercattle. They sit there and blame a group of dried up whores and do not question how said dried up whores can have power over the entire financial sector. It is kinda crazy to still see people who are sat there thinking that it is their fault, instead of being entirely the responsibility of v/mc and them just using this group as a scapegoat to further their own wants, be that censorship or for youtube lower ad rates.

The main thing I saw was some guy calling for the death penalty for one of the many foreign child rapists. I don't know if I have made my stance very clear but serial criminals who have had a chance to change but failed to, or people who have (maliciously) committed crimes so heinous that the victim will never properly recover should be exectued. I have never fucking seen worse arguments against it than on twitter in the defence of a child rapist.

The fucking main one is that 'it isn't actually a deterrent'. Which like yes I fucking know. That is exactly why it's a good thing. If 'WE WILL FUCKING KILL YOU' is not strong enough to stop someone raping children then what the fuck do you think the prison system is going to do? If literally being shot in the fucking head will not deter you then there is nothing higher that we can do to deter you and thus the bare fucking minimum we should do is execute them. This country gives violent sex offenders a slap on the wrist, do you think that is going to stop them? I don't fucking understand the 'oh but it won't stop rapists' line. Maybe it won't. But it will at the bare minimum mean that no women will have to live in fear that her rapist has been released from jail and might hunt her down. Even then I do not actually believe that it isn't a deterrent. The places that half these people come from would have them stoned to death for raping someone, yet they are alive enough to come rape our kids. How come they didn't rape someone back where they came from, where they would be stoned for it? Obvious survivor bias aside. Idk how the fuck people in the middle ages managed it, how the fuck are we now more retardedly forgiving than the people that believed they would go to hell for holding a grudge? The other people were saying that oh yea well actually it's cheaper to just keep them in prison compared to killing them. Which I do not believe for a second. I think that yea being stuck on death row for the fair few years due course would take might be expensive but that's only because once again this fucking country lets people convicted of distributing child pornography walk free instead of sending them to rot in jail. Yea I'm sure that 6 months in jail is probably cheaper than 2 years on death row. The issue there is not that death row is expensive the issue is that we are far too fucking lenient on regular jail time already. Ok yea maybe each bullet is like a dollar each, five guards so like £3 which less than a fucking week's worth of food. How the fuck is this in any way more expensive? The fact that somehow £3 is more expensive than their jail term is should once again tell you that just like death not being a deterrent these people are clearly not being handled properly. A war torn Germany can manage to execute 6 million people and get them all buried or cremated but somehow we can't manage something as complicated as 0.1% of that when not at war? I don't feel much sympathy for the government though, what you're too low on money and have to stop things that are objectively good for society? Welcome to the north. Like ok yea maybe it is too much money, I'll volunteer. I'll just borrow one of the jcbs from work and dig you a ditch somewhere and do it myself, give us a fiver to cover petrol and the cost of the washing machine and I'll call it even. Out of all the dogshit our government spaffs money on I think keeping a million or so to the side every year to deal with executing the absolute scum of society is maybe not that much. Well maybe we should just release the people who are in jail for years all over a single facebook comment, that'd save enough money to make up the difference.
