I didn't know that about his mom, wow. That's sad - but I wanted to point out what I bolded. Even speaking as a woman that generally has an uncommonly easy time saying "no", people underestimate the pressure women are primordially under to "not make a fuss".

I think it's one of the most fundamental core messages girls receive in childhood: 'your feelings are secondary, don't make a fuss, god you're so hysterical - it was a joke, bitch, also you're fat anyway.' This whole kerfuffle with Pedro is happening because any actual woman alive has heard this shit before, and we recognize what's happening. In the context of the power dynamics of a male actor who's the flavor du jour of Hollywood?

"It's my anxiety"

:story:

Fuck off, Pedro.
There’s this thing—there’s probably a name for it but I don’t know it—where you’re the bad guy if you point out a problem, instead of, you know, the actual person causing the problem. I’m sure this phenomenon happens to men sometimes, too.

I can’t decide if I hate Pedro for being in everything now or respect him for his work ethic. If he does have the geigh, it would make sense why he’s trying to make as much money as possible before everyone finds out. Maybe he creeps on women, I don’t know….having a troon family member makes a lot of people turn their brains off.

It's more troubling than that, though. I think a lot of women wouldn't have a problem telling him off for unwanted contact if he was doing this stuff in private.

But he's not doing it in private (or at least, he might be but he's also) doing it in public, in front of a live audience of many people and a televised/internet audience of possibly millions. What is an actress supposed to do or say? Visibly flinch and say 'don't touch me' with photographers and cameramen documenting everything?

It's also why I despise public marriage proposals, especially ones co-ordinated with other people. It's a gross (even if subconscious) abuse of public pressure.

Yes, I believe that was the case. Pedro is somebody that's going to have some weird sexual scandal happen with him, I feel.
Pedro feels like he's being pushed on us for some reason. Like, I don't know how organic his rise to fame was. I liked him fine in Game of Thrones (and still wish he'd won his fight against The Mountain), but after seeing him in a billion ads and then cast as Joel, I just get this feeling that the media wants him to become the new face of TV. They treat him like he's Tom Cruise or something.

Didn't he also drag Gina Carano through the mud?

4 years after. Pedro was 24 years old. After the fertility scandal, his family fled to Chile. His father was a fugitive for 15 years until he pled guilty to tax fraud in 2022.
His cousin's daughter, Maite Orsini Pascal, is a member of the current president of Chile's political party and has a seat on the Chilean congress. She's been in various sexual scandals while in office, and has been accused of corruption many times. Pedro's mother's cousin, Andrés Pascal Allende, is Salvador Allende's nephew and a former Marxist terrorist. The more you look, the deeper the rabbit hole goes. They're a very amoral family with deep pockets and a lot of political connections.

Oh LOL yeah no shit on the marriage proposals. I've told friends/ partners directly before, but I'd decline a public proposal on principle. Unless you've somehow obliquely discussed it and established it's your partner's preference, it's never not manipulative. Thankfully I've never been worried about my family being dumb enough to go along with it were it suggested, but you're right in that it provides an additional layer of pressure on the women to not "make a scene".

It only makes me angrier with him to acknowledge how much he's leveraging female socialization on purpose to get away with it. The double standards give me heartburn.

Personally, I advocate turning that one on its' head. I won't PL too much by giving specifics, but I've been in a situation more than once where I've decided on the spot that I don't actually care what these people think of me, so I'm just gonna be frank. I know they're expecting me to smile and say that everything is fine because to do otherwise would be embarrassing, and I just decided that in order to be embarrassed I'd have to concede that I had something to be embarrassed about when I didn't. I would love to see the women involved with Pedro go this route, but acknowledge that for many reasons I have the hide of a rhinoceros where many don't. That's one of many reasons why I love KF.

This law is garbage though, British people need to riot the way they do for soccer games.
The top Twitter posts are more about how they can't wank in the morning. They literally only care about their porn use being restricted.
Apparently finding reddit users oversharing while posting their nasty kinks = literally planting CSA on innocent trans people to frame them.
"Why do people think we're sex pests?" They ask, while posting graphic rape porn and talking about the many ways the love lolicon. We don't have to plant anything on them; they freely admit to it when they think the cissies aren't looking.

50 years ago men like this would've been literal serial killers.
Here is an archive.

So what you're saying is that schools should include scouring Reddit as part of their background checks now?
