New Delhi – A send-off event was held at the Japanese Embassy in New Delhi on Friday for 11 assistant language teachers and three international exchange coordinators who will be dispatched from India to Japan.

This marks the first regular dispatch of assistant language teachers from India under the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme, a government initiative to promote international exchanges at the regional level. Only a few such personnel from India have participated in the program until now.

The assistant teachers and coordinators will engage in English education and international exchange activities at schools and municipal offices in 11 prefectures across Japan for three years.

Srishti Taneja, 24, will teach at elementary and junior high schools in the northern city of Otaru, Hokkaido. "I have received precious lessons and experiences from Japan and its people," she said in fluent Japanese. "Now, it is my turn to give back. I will do my best to support children in Japan."

The start of the regular dispatch program is "a great step forward in grassroots exchanges between Japan and India and essential to further strengthen bilateral relations," Japanese Ambassador Keiichi Ono said.

Yes, the name of the program is JET.

JET.

I have never, EVER heard an Indian without their thick, unlistenable accent. It's like they just learned the bare minimum of English, but never cared for intonation or sounding right. And these people are English teachers?!

Japan is cooked... 😔

日本語が難しい
I hate that I can read that. one of my 3 years in that country was the worst year of my life.

my favorite japanese westism is them viewing KFC as christmas food

it's stupid yet so wholesome
There was also a translation error for an ad campaign for selling valentine chocolate led to women giving it to men.

Although not really the same thing, I remember in the mid/late 80s our English class teacher was from Germany...some kind of teacher exchange program. besides the heavy German accent she had, which made it very difficult for us to understand her, she would say stuff like "number A.... number B.". And since this was not only a public school, but a Philly public school, she would be "corrected" and mocked relentlessly for her syntax errors. It was both hilarious and sad at the same time.

That's Japan's fate sealed. The ESL market has been saturated for 15 years at least; but with the injection of jeets, that means the white man will be forced out soon enough once the elites realise they can get the cow for 20% of the already low price.

Then the societal degradation follows in light of these changes. Before you know it, Hiroshi will be told the the gangs of Kurdish men and those from Uttar Pradesh smoking outside of his house at 3am, loudly shouting and carrying on, are just 'good for the economy, don't be bigoted.'

Suddenly he remembers the words of his father from the mid-1990s: 'I didn't think the Americans were so bad.'

This will fail miserably and most of the jeets in question will be sent back.
"Saar I am true Japanese saar."

Imagine the number of half-Japanese, half-Pajeet rape babies that are going to brown the fuck out of Japan in the next few decades. Just fuck my shit up fam.
Some more info about the program itself.

Ok so they are mindful of people slipping through the cracks and want people who are invested in Japanese culture, to the point where you can at least speak their damn language.

I'd like to be proven wrong and hope that this will work, but I dunno... 😩
Lol the JET experience about to become the JEET experience.

Damn I'm too late to make a JEET program joke :story: Hope you guys are prepared to hear Japanese people ask you to pureasu do da niidufurru in about 10 years...

I heard Japan does (did?) traditionally have squatting toilets, at least in rural places. Maybe those will be easier to get used to for them than the western style ones? Maybe? Yeah probably not

According to a guy who was an actual JET teacher, the guys who are part of the program depend heavily on each other. Things like teaching the newcomers how life in Japan actually is and how to deal with the locals, how to manage their finances, where to buy appliances/furniture, selling things like used cars for pennies on the dollar so that the new guy can establish himself there. Imagine having to depend on the generosity and goodwill of a jeet to make ends meet.

Remember. Most JET teachers are weebs who are straight out of college and don't know anything about living on their own. Jeets will be the end of them
Yeeeppp

An ex of mine though about doing JET and a similar program on S. Korea. She was a massive people pleaser / agreeable person and even she was shocked as the shit they make their teachers endure.

She later decided Citizen Schools on the hood in Houston was a better idea lol.
