It's not an accident, it's just not explicit. All vtubers attract the otaku audience, whether they're after loli, yuri, whatever. There's a good reason for that actually- prospective "light novel" authors write their stories on various websites (Web novels), and hope to be picked up by a light novel publisher. You have to come up with a unique variant on an already autistically diverse theme. So it starts to get ridiculous and you start writing compound sentences. There's one that was taken down that I remember laughing at, where the main character was killed and reincarnated as Himmler and his goal is to minimize or even eliminate the Holocaust.
