This is a lie, spat straight into your fucking face. They can, will, and do - as a matter of common business practice - dictate to their partner banks and processors to add names to MATCH to give plausible deniability. That is to say, they use their partners to add and remove names so they can pretend they didn't do it.

They have no "customers". They're business-to-business mostly, so they're pretty well insulated from any angry customers as the issuing banks get most of the brunt of the anger. So all of the actual customer/response that you'd usually see in a typical organisation is done behind closed doors in shady rooms and hush hush.

It's disgusting. I'm all for private companies but if you're handling trillions of the world's monetary transactions, there needs to be some transparency in place. If Visa or MasterCard collapsed, the world's financial systems would be massively disrupted for months. But that cannot happen so all of the world would inject hard-earned tax money into MasterCard/Visa to keep them alive, creating some kind of invincible entity that only exists because it's inconvenient to replace.
