I can see Heather coming off as the possessive type. Makes you wonder if it's not just the children she's been manipulating too. Like if her influence has rubbed off on Mike or the rest of their extended family.

Though that also raises questions about whether or not said extended family is even aware of Mike and the landwhale's situation.

I think it was Heather who demanded this for either welfare purposes or to get a higher tax deductible.

IIRC her day job is an accountant? if so, she'd likely know about the EIC (Exempt Income Credit). Basically the more kids you have in your household as dependents under the age of 18, the more you income you can exempt from being taxed. Depending on your level of income, you can get about $1000 per kid on your federal taxes. Multiply that by 5, and there is potentially $5000 added to what you were already getting back in the first place.

If your line of thinking has any merit, this is certainly an incentive. A small one compared to how much they made on youtube, but still possibly a motivating factor.

Whoever was posting as DaddyOfive on the teamDO5 facebook keeps saying they are going to continue making videos and eventually put the others back up. The fact that they just had to put one up today screams that they are trying to keep a desperate hold of their fans in anticipation of an eventual return. Of course, whoever that is posting is smug as Hell, cursing at some people, and someone else pointed out this person keeps saying the word "mate" when addressing people. That doesn't sound like Mike or Heather, but it could be Jake. They won't stop unless a judge tells them to stop or their channels die. I fully expect them to find their way onto the TV talk shows, Dr. Phil or whatever. Hell, I wouldn't put it past them to try to shop a reality show. All they have to do is let enough time pass for people to forget and they will be back like the herpes they are.

Amy's son doesn't seem to be the only one.
I was curious and decided to look at the oldest son's facebook and found posts from 2013 where he refers to Mike as "dad" and goes on and on in several posts about how wonderful he is. Mike and Heather didn't get married until January 2014 so Mike probably did the same thing with her kids (and Heather was probably more than happy to do the same to Cody and Emma when they came into the household).

Of course September-December aren't too far away from January, but it still seems a little odd that he would be going on and on about how great his "dad" is when Mike wasn't even his stepfather yet, and he already seemingly had a "dad" (and I'm pretty sure Heather's divorce wasn't finalized until mid-2013? I could be mistaken).

sidenote, I think I found Heather's ex husband/her kids' biological dad on Facebook (archive). Looks to be a firefighter in Baltimore and went to the same high school that Jake supposedly goes to. There aren't any public posts about this mess though, so might not be much but still interesting.

Im gonna :powerlevel: again here, but its totally possible to be abusive and still love someone. I think the reason why Mike denies the fact that he's abusive is because he genuinely doesn't know that he's being abusive most of the time.

I think at this point it shouldn't surprise anyone at their ineptitude at hiding their current social media profiles. I do have to wonder what their end game is, because they have been exposed by a whole lot of MSM outlets. Paint me optimistic, but I can't see them getting out of this with their kids (Cody and sister) in tow. The damage has been done to their image, and rightfully so. The sadder part of this is that I feel therapy might help if authorities ultimately fail, but unfortunately Heather might somehow make it not an option. Mike is an asshole, don't get me wrong, but it just feels like Heather is much more manipulative or at least tries to be with her stupid fake crying when it only involves something in regards with her, but shows no mercy when it's about the kids. If they do try therapy it will be only for show to Heather. Basically if Heather is out of the picture they might actually be able to fix a few things, despite Mike still being scum.

Yeah it seems like a major problem in this is Michael is not emotionally mature at all. According to that blog post all he wants to do is play video games all day, make stupid photoshops of himself, and never grew out of the "bullies his little siblings because it's funny and if they cry they're wimps" phase. It doesn't mean he's justified in what he's done to the kids but not being such a manchild would help.

Unfortunately, these people are too dense and narcissistic to legitimately entertain the idea that they're absolutely shitty parents until perhaps the day when Cody commits a spree killing that ends in suicide and the report comes out that his last words were "it's just a prank brah".

Unless it is court mandated and monitored I have no confidence whatsoever that they won't bail on the therapy as soon as the heat is off of them. These two "parents" don't care, they still are not admitting to what they really have done and I don't think they ever will. They say in their latest lawyer produced video that the kids think this is all their fault. Where would they even get that idea from? Only those nasty parents or some of the nasty comments by their nasty retarded fans. That is who these parents are. That is what they are. They won't change.

In the lawyer vid is when she also says that they are now in family therapy, so either before was a lie or there were a few sessions previously and they didn't continue. If they were still going, they would have a better understanding of Emma and Cody's conditions.

Whoever it is in that family that is responding to comments as DaddyOfive on that page is doing more damage than good to their new good Christian churchgoing image. They are smug, rude, cursing out people, and admitting on multiple occasions that they will be back asap. If their family was really that much more important than "fake videos," they'd be staying the Hell away from everything, shutting their pages down, and actually doing what they claimed they wanted to do in that fake lawyer produced video and try to get their kids into a normal way of life. But they aren't. They are boasting that there is no chance the kids will be taken away, there is no investigation ("No further action" are the words they used), they will be back with new videos and will put the old ones back, oh yeah, and a big FUCK YOU to several people who were giving them shit. Whoever is responding is not doing a very good job of painting them as contrite should there ever actually (hopefully) be a court case for custody. It shows very clearly they aren't taking any of this seriously at all. They just can't stay away, even now, and that speaks volumes.
