Being in com seems to require participation, both criminally and just generally socially, and the participation is all on major platforms like Discord and Telegram. I think being in com sort of precludes you from having good opsec in the same way that there's no way to have meaningfully good opsec while robbing the corner store down the street from your house. I imagine there are probably com-like groups that are a bit more cunning, but the MO of this group is to be loud, obnoxious, and clout-chasing while doing crime. It's just retarded from top to bottom.

But so far most of those who have been caught didn't really seem to take opsec seriously or FBI is going for lowballs and isnt putting much resources in going after people who actually try to hide their identity. From what ive heard they use google phone numbers bought from third world people to sign up for telegram, using whonix and multiple vpn layers and regularly delete accounts after a few days.

It's very weird. I've seen the prosecution of a variety of people for this type of criminal activity, and usually there is a lot shorter duration between the receipt of the NCMEC report and the investigation. And it appears that the NCMEC reports here were pretty detailed—usually it's just "this user has uploaded media that was identified as potential illicit sexual material, here's the information on them." Sometimes the reporting source provides a description of the material, but other times they don't. The gap between the report and the investigation is usually a month to 6 months. Most of the time, there really isn't much else to the investigation other than confirming the address and person associated with the reported account.
Of course, there are other ways I've seen people get on law enforcement's radar—a parent is told by the child of grooming or abuse, there's a report or investigation in a foreign country about the abuser, the kid reports it themselves, a person is caught in the middle of another police investigation, etc. But I've never seen a fairly detailed NCMEC report with names, addresses, descriptions, victim info, etc. go unaddressed for so long.
I guess it could be due to a wider investigation, but things usually run pretty quickly. These people almost always have detailed communications, logs, interactions with others on apps or websites, etc. It's easier for law enforcement to just take all their stuff and investigate from there as opposed to using an investigation's target as an unwitting honeypot to catch others. Even when a few people running a dark web exchange were caught somehow in Europe and their info was given to US authorities, the feds went in quickly and then found all the records of their communications and activities after the search and seizure.

Because everything stems from insecurity. Something you'll find as a common thread among people in this sphere of the internet is the fact that they were almost all bullied or survived trauma as a child, only to go around and do horrific things to others. It comes from insecurity about their identity and who they are so they pretend online and group with other people who gas them up and make them feel good while acting out revenge fantasies or simply acting upon impulse because there's nobody to stop or discipline them.

Likely been the result of a domino effect, one person goes down (for example, Bradley Chance Cadenhead in 2023) and the seized devices open up a whole host of new dots to connect and leads. But, law enforcement is absolutely pitiful at getting a sufficient handle on this entire shithole of a situation, regardless of the past or present administration.

I imagine it's perhaps used as a reference with all the archiving and frequent updating, but likely has the same reputation that Wikipedia has in schools.
US DoD uses twitter OSINT Accounts for military strikes so I wouldn't dismiss if they've used kiwifarms. Its probably treasure trove of information for guys in FBI trying to investigate these sick fucks and get a good picture of them.

On background, sure. If you need to create a description for some strange Internet community engaging in batshit behavior, there aren't many other places to go to find that out. But it's not cited anywhere. When you look at the complaint posted above, for example, there's a whole section on NVEs and 764 that gives the magistrate an adequate background on what is being investigated. But that description is a stock description—once it's created, all the feds seeking warrants will use the same copy & pasted description. So I'm sure if the feds had to put together a description of what the Foodists or Malagasy Clay Eaters are, an agent who's clever will come here to see what they are exactly. But there's no need to cite to KF or anything else once they've put their description together, and future agents will just use the stock description that was created.
Generally, it's not very useful to use KF as an originating source for an investigation because there's not really much credibility or reliability in the reporting source. I mean that in the sense of how an anonymous informant who leaves a voicemail is not as credible or reliable as a community's longtime minister who gives a report in person.

Not going to lie, these arrests are the only time I am unabashedly proud of paying taxes and feel that my money is actually going to a good cause. My only complaint is how long they take to arrest pedophiles even when they are fully doxed.
