Final prediction: a veteran who is going to college. Became very radicalized after falling hard into far left rhetoric online. Got radicalized to the point he thought killing kirk would save people.

I think it’s a little bit of both. Part of it is that no one cared because they had no power or influence. The other is that they had a bit of a cuck attitude.

WSJ ran with it, CNN followed up (and tried to wash it), NYT later came to say that it 'may have been misinterpreted.'

Sounds like whatever the leaked material was, it was authentic - but the leaked material may have been premature / incorrect. Time will tell, since obviously they have the casings and they'll get released sooner or later. If the perp turns out to be a troon, I mean, yeah, probably is the case.

I know a progressive individual whose business was burned down during the George Floyd riots who is, somehow, certain that the fire was started by Proud Boys provocateurs and not by legitimate BLM members.

I've seen folks close to Trump talking about reviving COINTELPRO. The response to this shouldn't be random street violence. It should be raids on people's homes at 2am.

Exactly. For example, people have no idea how many elderly are registered as Democrats that vote straight ticket Republican.

Most people's "registered party" is usually just whatever their parents were and hasn't been changed since they were 18. Half this country is too lazy to vote and yet they somehow are expected to change their political party the exact moment their opinions change.

When I was a kid, someone from the local PD showed up and "helped people register to vote" by registering all 18 year old males as Republican.

And few things cause such visceral reactions as a mentally ill person acting out against their religious upbringing, as both @Kalamazoo 2 Timbuktu and myself indicated yesterday. I can't speak for the outcasts from any other group, but I've seen some batshit insane - and out of proportion - reactions to a JW upbringing on the part of more than one person. While I've yet to hear of one committing murder, plenty have gone down the path of suicide or slow self-destruction.

I'm almost positive the literal fagwife I mentioned in that link died from drug abuse.

And JWs aren't really that high up on the fundy Christian apocalypse cult chart. If this person was also influence by degenerate freak leftist ideology which, among other things, has plenty of gullible young people believing they're going to die of "global warming", is it really that much of a leap to think they'd murder people they think are speaking against their fucked-up sacraments?
 
Cnn just reported that the shooter confessed to his father, the father held him until authorities got there.
