Aleo I checked to see if dave's mom was still on the sex offender registry, but I didn't find anything.

I'm guessing the reference to his mom is in relation to the bit about being too worn down to fight any more. I don't think he means his mom is a sex offender, I think he's disclosing that his mom lost custody of her own kids due to CPS. That would explain in part why he's a shitty parent himself (in part, not in full: many people who were removed as kids are awesome parents themselves).

As for the sex offender bit, he's either drawing on (yet more of) his partner's fuckups, or Dave has some interesting skeletons in his closet himself.

I could be wrong. Dave has a tendency to run thoughts together in his writing to give a confusing picture.

It reads to me as if a previous partner lied to him (or his mother) about their age and they got labeled a pedo.
Considering he alludes to getting taken away and crying about how horrible Child Protective Services is, I'd say it was his mother.
Smidge getting taken away was for child endangerment, if it had something to do with fucking underaged kids, I imagine it'd be mentioned on his record.

Holy fuck the rabbit hole has gotten deep with this guy. Something tells me we aren't quite to the end of it either, unfortunately.

Tumblr never fails to have the absolute worst people in its user base (despite said people almost always thinking they're unique and beautiful warriors for social justice).

Maybe worth mentioning is how often people suggest "hey call CPS on this lolcow for being a bad parent" and no, generally calling CPS in that situation, like lolcow cecily Kellogg turning her daughter into a fat sjw, doesn't do shit. CPS is over worked and stretched thin in their ability to work with families. So if they're not just looking into Dave but giving him all they got, You. Dun. Fucked. Up.

I'm also on chronic pain meds and while I have even been to doctor's offices warning you must sign paperwork if you get pain meds-- I've never had to fill out paperwork to receive even controlled drugs. You know what also looks sketchy as fuck? Going to a pain clinic after carpal tunnel release. Nobody normal does that.

Not that Dave's account of the surgery sounds all that believable, either. I've had it myself. It's not that big a deal. You don't need opiates to handle the pain it causes and you certainly don't still need them two to four weeks post-surgery, which is about when suture removal happens. In my experience the pain after median nerve decompression is bad for the first night then very quickly settles, and it can be relieved completely with standard over-the-counter medication. I went on a foreign holiday a week after having my second op and didn't so much as have to look up Paracetamol in a phrasebook. By the time the stitches are removed - and as CT release is usually performed on older adults and projected recovery times assume an older patient base, a thirtysomething patient will probably find the sutures fall out on their own before then - any pain is minimal and only occurs on performing certain wrist movements. Any young person claiming to be in excruciating pain and demanding opiates two weeks after surgery deserves to be treated like a drug-seeking pills head because that is exactly what they are.

I also have no idea how the flaming Hell he supposedly ended up 'bruised from wrist to elbow' either. The incision for median nerve release is at the bottom of the palm, above where the veins show in the wrist. Absolutely nothing that happens during the course of that surgery, even the application of a tourniquet in the case of nicking the vein, should even be capable of leaving the arm that badly bruised. Unless this dude is a freak of nature who is too delicate and special a snowflake to heal normally, absolutely none of this story makes sense.

Especially because cps usually does it's best to keep kids with their moms; normally it's the dads they really go after. Typically they just put the kid into emergency custody for a little while, then send them right back.

Another thing that stands out to me is that Dave got landed with a felony instead of a misdemeanor. For that to happen, what he did had to be intentional, and put smidge in a place where her life/overall wellbeing was threatened.

Daves a worthless child abuser, and should never be let around his kid again.
