My personal experience with "Yuri fans" has been that they're overwhelmingly men, even straight men that haven't trooned out, but pretend to be women online because they know that managing pages dedicated to yuri as a straight man is asinine. Sure, you can like yuri as a straight man, everyone has their own fetishes, but everyone knows then that it's nothing more than a sexual fetish. These men are after the protection and support they get by pretending to be a lesbian, but you can always tell it's a man behind the account due to how they write.
