Not sure if this is TMI but what? Where? I've had many massages in many different places, I've never had to go naked. My underwear was moved up and down, but never been fully naked.
They won't ask you to. It's your preference.
One day I was sweatier/grosser than I would have liked and asked my RMT, very embarrassed, if I could go without panties. She said most people go naked and she has no preference. They place the sheets the same way.
If they MAKE you go naked, get a new RMT.
For every single massage appt I've ever had there was a pack of single-use underwear waiting for me in the dressing room. That included a pair of thongs and slippers. I was supposed to put them in, get under the blanket and call the masseuse
But.. naked? Jesus, the horror!
This sounds like a relaxation massage at a spa and not a real RMT. They're different services.
Also, calling them masseuse, lol. That's kind of a dated term. These days RMTs gives massages, masseuses give happy endings.
You can get insurance to pay for an RMT's services. You can't for a masseuse, or an aesthetician who's just giving a relaxation massage. The single use panties are more of a spa thing.
An RMT could provide the single use panties if they wanted, I guess, but I don't see why they wouldn't just let you wear your own panties. It would make me wonder if their sheets were as sterile as they should be, tbh.
Also caveat that I'm Canadian, and I just remembered Americans are prudes. No offense. But I'm sure Anna's not the only one naked under the sheets at her massage therapist.
What's the difference between being naked and wearing a tiny thong? Hygiene. If the sheets and table are sterilized properly, then the thong is just hygiene theatre and only there to make you psychologically comfortable. It's not better than your own underwear. But maybe they don't trust their clients to have non-shitty panties on when they come in.
I do question her flipping the table though. Because people with lymphedema are usually pretty big folk, so you would imagine the therapist would have properly-rated equipment.
Her insurance would probably require her to... but even if her clients are usually big, are they usually ANNA big??
