Can vinyl stuff be 3D printed, or are actual molds going to be made for these dumb things?

Uggh, it looks like Orobas has an upskirt too.

Orobas's head is so flat and her face seems so. Off. Like the nose is too scrunched up like a bootleg MLP toy (which I guess she pretty much is). Beleth, though. They look awkward. The face and the posture is a bit messed up. The lack of a neck really doesn't lend well to 3d. Their head is set too far back! These figures would need a lot of improvement.

Yeah, Red Beleth's head is nice and round, but the head is placed too far forward.

It makes me sad when I see a cool person interact with PK. barf

How light are 3 inch vinyl figures about anyway? Her not even in contact with the sculptor is a bad idea and makes me think that ESCToy (who did her plushies...well the protypes anyway) is having an under-paid intern do these models.

Err, she's not even been able to give feedback on the prototypes as they've been being developed? What kind of shit is this? I've worked with prototyping toys, both plush and figurines, and was able to send back the prototypes a bunch of times with red lines and notes until it came back exactly how it was supposed to look.

Pretty shitty if she can't even have a say in the development and just has to deal with the wonky head placement garbage.

I know she got to put some input in on the plush, so maybe these figurine designs are the ones she green lit?

I wanted to make a small sketch here to see if I can mend some design choices. Not taking the balance into account. I thought having Red Beleth just kind of standing there was odd. The others had a simple pose at least. Also since the character has a large bow tie I figured maybe tilting the head upward slightly would make the lack of a neck less apparent? Not my best work but you get the idea.

3 inches is about the height of a Nendoroid figure if I recall correctly--not including the base to stand on. Hell, they NEED that base in the first place because the SD style of the figures makes them too top heavy to keep balance.

Assuming the base is part of the designs, theoretically they should not fall over. It kinda depends on the quality of the final product and how much material ends up going into it. Will it be hollow? or solid? If it's solid, I'm not sure that dinky little base will help hold anything up.

Funny how even the smallest changes make the design loads better.

Y'know when I first saw the figures I didn't think they were too bad, and actually kind of cute. I didn't even notice that Beleth's head was so off center until you pointed it out.

Now I can't not notice it, and any feelings of "well they're kind of cute" are now outweighed by the fact that her head looks like it's going to slide back.
Just
Plop right off.

Also I looked up ESCToy and the work...isn't awful?

It's not amazing, but it's not the worst. It reminds me of Funko POP! quality stuff, y'know, cheapish (the paint that bleeds onto other parts of the figure and that are chipped off in some parts really adds to that feel). Which in my opinion isn't the worst; lots of people like Funko POP as shown by their popularity, and the fact that the price is also really cheap makes it reasonable.

Basically what I'm getting at is: these figurines better not be worth more than like $10-$15, because while they're more detailed than a funko POP, they still look the same quality. And they don't have the popularity factor going for them. So I could see a cheap price being not too bad for these things.

But then again, this is PK, she's probably going to charge a bundle.

Except ESC toy charges a lot more than Funko pop. I wonder how much these prototypes are running PK to make, then. Because I doubt the Playstation IPs went through with no over sights or say-so from Sony. With base retails that expensive, she could have gotten a better company.
