I feel Talk To Staff is a bit too stuffy for some people feeling comfortable asking small or simple questions to moderators, and I also believe there could be some more levity between staff and users.

Try to avoid using this to interrogate about moderation decisions, like "Why was I banned?" since that's something that genuinely should be handled in Talk To Staff. Threads posted there will be treated with more urgency and seriousness. Generally.

Use this thread to ask us questions, serious or not, and we'll answer them accordingly to whimsy.

Are you more of a "use the search function, locked" kinda guy or a "don't necro threads, locked" kinda guy?

Yours say you were banned from Beauty Parlor for having a foot fetish.
Please make mod notes public, sounds like there is some good lolcow content.

You really shouldn't necro threads unless there's something new. But every half-baked retard thinks they need to necro half a decade old thread just to say that the situation is "stupid".

Is there a way to stop DMs from auto-deleting?

I had a conversation a year or so ago with someone from the cartoon industry board about breaking into the business… I just thought to hit them back and compare notes with them about progress, and… I forgot their username, and the dm thread is gone.
I think this also means the dormant Kiwimation dm group is gone too? Fuck.

I changed my username and I can change my avatar but I can't change my banner or my title. It will ask for an invitation to do that. So, is it because I changed my name recently?

Look, I'm not trying to start shit or get myself in trouble but I'm very curious as to why when you get something deleted, you can't see what was deleted so you have no idea what it is that you did wrong. The mistake can be repeated in the future because you have no idea what got taken away.
On top of that, I have had one thing deleted by Null where the reason given was pretty explanatory even though I needed further clarification, which he gave to me immediately and promptly.
But then I get snarky unhelpful reasons like this, which I imagine are from different moderators:

That's not helpful, and it doesn't keep people from remaking the same mistake. I have a lot of free time with the whole chronic no life thing, so I make a good amount of posts each day.
How am I supposed to learn anything from a snarky response and an inability to see what was deleted?
I am hesitant to ask this question because I don't want to get in any further trouble or make myself a target, but I also don't want to keep making the same mistakes in the future and become some kind of problem who does end up getting in trouble. It's kind of a double edged sword, so I figure I ought to just ask.
TL;DR: When you can't look at the content that was deleted to see what you did wrong, and the reason for deletion is a shitty response from a random moderator, how are you supposed to keep for making the same mistake?

It's better when there's no comment at all and something vanishes. Did it get deleted? Did it get swept to another thread? Did I just imagine posting?

How do you feel about pineapple on pizza?

Double posting - I wish retards would just edit their original post instead of creating a new post.
Serious question, why don't you guys ban people for shit like this? I think everywhere that's not a shitting board, users themselves will call people out of doubleposting or not thumbnailing, anyone who doesn't know better finds out quick enough. People get a fuck ton of leeway, seems to me.

:semperfi:

Semper fidelis because I still really like the Jace drama and it's a nice sticker to give to people.
I don't understand why this sticker earns fewer points than "informative," given that people seem to value it more, based on what I see. The sticker basically functions like a lesser "Achievement" sticker, except it doesn't come from Null but rather donators.

Keep track of your own posts. I was banned from the US politics thread because of a post shitting on the Star Trek nujak posted by welper, with the reasoning "doesn't want to participate in discussion", when there were so many others that would have made more sense to get a time out. Mods are also just humans that more often then not act out of momentarily personal emotional reasons. Its not like they are professionals being paid to clean up or so above all that individual power tripping and agendad doesn't gets in the way from time to time.
I wouldn't worry too much.

I don't quite get if the ability to delete posts and thread ban is global or limited to the respective mod tasked to clean up a certain aisle. If its the former, I get at least my ban
