Other than sexual assault, how much worse can it get? They:
  • Weren't feeding their kids properly (per the report the kids were going to sunday school/church school hungry)
  • They weren't keeping the kids in clean clothes
  • The kids were stinky
  • Nick physically assaulted at least one kid in public
  • One of their kids was doped up at 10x the baseline level for cocaine use
  • There are questions about how rigorous their at-home schooling was (also interesting that most of the kids seem to be in public school now).
  • Per Aaron, we know Kayla and Nick would get into shouting matches in front of the kids. Are we sure none were ever at the kids?
  • Behavioral issues reported with at least one of the kids.
Like I get it, there are worse cases out there, but this is getting close to batting for the cycle in terms of neglect, and even moving on to direct abuse (with the chokeslam).

We know the kids weren't being fed so I doubt whatever meds the kids may or may not need were being kept up with. Kid knows the need a pill, see a pill bottle, take the pill. Not the craziest thing to happen.

According to Nick, kt came down to 16 grammes, sans packaging, and about 5 were ketamine. Brown substance was never identified, and it bothers me still...

My lay interpretation is that they had so much on Nick, they did not feel the need to charge, test, and do the paperwork on every little thing. It saves time and effort of they are not trying to nail him to the wall.

Their biggest mistake was thinking that Nick would go along with things like a normal addict on his first arrest and cooperate to get a lesser punishment. They may come to regret it later.

We have no firm evidence that drug masses were altered. As far as we can tell, it came down to 16 grammes when the packaging was removed.

I do not know which other 'controlled subatances' you reference, but if they had prescriptions for it, they would not be taken to task for having modafinil or adderall with a valid script. If you mean the 'brown substance' they simply did not test it.

I checked with my husband and he confirmed the tattoo should read: 怒节侠膽. which is literally "anger restraint chivalry courage" but the native speaker's more figurative translation "righteous instincts, gallant courage"

Chat GPT insists that the tattoo artist fucked up the bottom character, but I don't think they did. It's just in traditional script with very thick lines.

I know I'm going to get trash cans for this but Nick's kids were not "dirty", "hungry", or "beaten" the same way that most CPS kids are dirty, hungry, and beaten (to our knowledge). CPS even agreed that the kids weren't dirty and hungry enough for it to amount to neglect. They were taken because Nick endangered them by having mountains of cocaine casually laying around the house and we know the judge was worried about giving them back due to the 8 year old's test showing she was a junkie, but that's still pretty tame.

Not trying to PL but growing up I knew a few kids who got taken by CPS and they had it considerably worse than Nick's kids had it. At least from what we can see.

Side note - Nick has to be lying about "fastest child return in Kandiyohi history" because one - how in the world would he know that? Is there a leader board? What about all the people who sealed their cases like Nick did? And two because he's lied about having his kids back at least once so he's probably lying about having full custody with no CPS visits or anything.
