It's partially because he hasn't really read his holy book, but a lot of it is also because he will change what he doesn't like in his head and expects reality to bend to it, simply repeating the claim in the same way a child repeats a lie. To give you an idea, he does not believe that Christ died for our sins for example. He also does not believe in an afterlife as well.

And I will simply state that synchronicity is woo given it was used by Jung to justify his belief in the paranormal, which as we know is non-scientific.
