I think what makes the conversation even more awkward is the amount of dramatic pauses they do. Just to get an idea i decided to count how many elipsis was there in the whole conversation and i think there was 33 or 34. Yes, there is at least 30 pauses in this 3 minutes of conversation between childhood friends, mostly because Senpai drifts off everytime he talks and Osana stutters.

IMO these is the worst ones:

Senpai: Uh... It's not a competition...

Senpai: Huh? Why?

Senpai: Ah, that's not really my type of music...

Senpai: Uh... I don't know why you had to phrase it like that... but, yeah, i'm free tonight...

Why is Senpai so "slow" in the head? It's like he needs a few seconds to process everything Osana says and when he finishes talking he stares the wall. Why can't he answer like a normal person?

To make it worse the VA says "phrase it like that but" in one go so the elipsis makes no sense to be there.

Senpai: If you're really interested i'd be willing to let you borrow it... but you have to promise to take good care of it. *wags point finger*

The first conversation starts with Osana shitting on Senpai 3 times in a row. It doesn't matter if it's "lol tsundere", there is no logical reason for Senpai to consider her his friend, it's borderline abusive. I know Alex hates Tsunderes but he is trying too hard to make the player hate Osana too.

Osana is not a tsundere, just a bossy girl. She looks this kind of kid who always wants to choose the game/the toys and doesn't care about other kids' opinion.
And Senpai is not a lonely shy bookworm, he looks submissive as hell. He obeys like a robot and he probably apologies for breathing and stealing air from other people.

I wouldn't eliminate Osana because Senpai and her match perfectly: both are annoying.

This reminds me of this game that was super popular on know your meme for a few months (yeah I am a total normie) that was a 3d game made by one dude, and everybody was raving about dlc he made in a few months

Pretty sure this dude is an artist but you would think that Alex with all his money from patron could make something just as good in twice the time as a guy who made this cutscene in a few months without any money to begin with.
