Social Justice Warriors - Now With Less Feminism Sperging

It was partricia Bidol a university lecturer in the 70's as I recall, it's a really simplistic model and doesnt really work very well in application. Mostly it's used by sjw's with no academic background to avoid being called racist I've only had it brought up once in opposition to me and it imediatly backfoots the person using it as long as you know what you're doing.

When did bigotry/racism become defined as "prejudice plus power"? That was not the fucking definition until a few years ago. In fact, I'm pretty sure it still isn't in any dictionary I can find. Wiktionary says:

See there, it's just being an asshole to someone else because you're judging their race as being inherently bad. Nothing about existing power structures or institutional biases.

So maybe someone's brought it up before, but does anyone have any concrete idea of just who started spreading this manipulative doublespeak? Did it originate in a particular Salon article from 2011 or something?
FWIW, I recall that the first time I heard this weird alternate definition, it was about six months before the 2008 election. It was also, coincidentally, about the time the liberals started pushing the "Voting for Obama proves you're not racist" card. The timing struck me as more than a little convenient. But then, I had to wonder if the primary had worked out differently, they'd have had the nerve to tell people they had to vote for Hillary to prove they weren't sexist.

Funny, at the time I thought the possibility was hypothetical.

It's all an exercise in goalpost moving, as society accepts more and more diversity (or just doesn't care), the social justice types keep redefining "tolerance" and "racism" so that you still haven't met their burden for proving you aren't racist.

When the stigma over interracial marriage went away, instead of declaring progress, they said you just had a fetish for black women, you still hated black people deep inside, they just knew it.

When the stigma over having black friends in your social circle went away, instead of declaring progress, they said it was "tokenism" and you still didn't like black people, they just knew it.

And now, when it's possible for a black man to be elected President, twice, instead of declaring progress, they say you're racist because you have "power and privilege", they just KNOW IT.

Lord I'm tired of playing a game with no "win" condition, how about you?

My god... I miss the halcyon days of my youth, when I felt confident enough to say that there weren't really a ton of leftists voting for a black man just to prove their own progressiveness. I'll never feel that innocence again.

Lord I'm tired of playing a game with no "win" condition, how about you?
And yet they double down on being offended when you just decide to quit playing and go back to living your life.

I first saw the "knapsack" privilege list and the "power + prejudice" thing in 2004ish, maybe. I want to say it was the summer before the election. It's worth noting that at the time, Bush was the fascist, and the paranoid left online was dead certain he was going to cancel the election "during war time."

Meh. I think the tinfoil community at that point was more bipartisan. It all seemed to bubble up out of the same place that bangs on about the gold standard and FDR suspending Twue Democracy.

Psh, everyone knows the real plan was for Rumsfeld to shoot Bush and declare martial law, he just overslept that morning and they lost their chance. I remember how pissed those UN troops looked lined up on the border, idling their tanks for hours and hours before they finally had to go home.....

We need to stop judging people by the content of their character, but instead by the color of their skin.
After the philando castile case all I see from my liberal friends is "the jury was 2 black people and 10 white people!" Like, can you people seriously just come out and admit that you believe everyone votes solely on race already? For all the self-important white "allies" "fighting" on behalf of minorities, why are they so sure the 10 white jurors don't judge the facts fairly?

If the world works the way they seem to think it does, that should've caused a mistrial for a hung jury, they can't even stay consistent in raging for wrong reasons.

Apparently not wanting to be an ally to a marginalized group/person who treats you like shit makes you a monster who cares more about your own feefees than human lives but literally leaving someone to die for hurting your feelings is totally ok and is only protecting yourself uwu

If only there was some way to ensure everyone just stays with people of the same skin color. A way to separate them all in the name of equality, or something.

It doesn't seem to fail that the more SJ-obsessed, Beyonce-loving and "(insert my race here) power!" a female PoC SJW is, the more likely she's in (or has been in) a relationship with a white man.

Exactly!! That's where they learn it from, their lame ass friends they met in college. It's funny because the only experience they have with whatever group they criticize the most (typically the upper class, white, yuppie types they associate with) are the same people that bend over backwards to accommodate them and egg them on in their mental illness.
