I have this one theory where there is an afterlife, but one can only access if they live out all their days (aka die of old age). If the person died young, they're sent to another reality where [almost] everything is the same, and your death appeared as a nightmare.

My religious beliefs belives in Heaven and God and Jesus but on that same note, I feel there could be anything. Perhaps there could also be a nothing. I do hope there's some kind of afterlife, not really for myself (going on for all eternity sounds boring as shit) but for my loved ones. Maybe it's a form of denial but thinking that someone you loved is still out there somewhere in some form is a lot easier to deal with than thinking they're gone forever.

I don't really have any concrete beliefs on what happens after we die. Sometimes I like to think we get reincarnated. Everyone gets to try again and again living all possible lives and reflecting on it between incarnations. Other times I like the idea that the afterlife is simply a place of eternal peace for the dead to rest. Other times I like to imagine we're in a simulation or some such and when we die we wake up. It's just whatever helps quell my fear of mortality at the time. One thing I do hope though is that if there is an afterlife its not eternal conscious existence. That's about the worst thing I can imagine.
