JD Vance criticizes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

"I didn't want to repeat our congresswoman, who froze for 20 seconds over in Munich.

Now I'm tempted, sir, just to freeze for 20 seconds and just stare at the cameras, and maybe they'll say nice things about me like they do about Congresswoman Cortez."

The shroud of Turin is known to be faker than a prostitutes orgasms.
I've done drunken wrestling moves on my girlfriend that were more believable than that blasphemous forgery.
If you’re referring to the 80s spectrometry tests, those were disproven recently. New one says that the same sample shows degradation consistent with it being made in the 1st century. Some other evidence for it:
-The marks left from the flogging match Roman-era whips that would have been unknown to a medieval forger
-Pollen grains collected from the shroud were found to be from species native to Israel
-The image on the shroud is only embedded approximately 0.5 micrometers deep at most, maps out into a 3d image and is not made out of paint, dye or a chemical stain
-Has 70 points of coincidence and the same blood type (AB) as the Sudarium of Oviedo

It still doesn't explain how they made an impossible-to-make artifact in the middle of Middle-Ages.
You're not giving that time period enough credit. Have you seen some of the anatomically accurate things that Michelangelo and DaVinci were able to create? I mean the statues made from marble alone.
And we don't know why they would make something that unusual instead of the regular Crown of Thorns or any kind of stuff like this. Those are for me the most powerful arguments for the Shroud.
Here's my counter argument against the shroud: it was carbon dated between the year 1260 and 1290 AD.
Do you know what AD stands for?
That's right, Anno Domini, which means in the year of our Lord. Now I may not be a biblical scholar, and I know I'm Catholic but I'm pretty sure it's not in the Bible that it took 1,260 years for Jesus to die.
So again I say, blasphemous forgery.

It's not a real move, more like a Giants/Jets playing in New Jersey move. It will be about 30 minutes from the Soldier Field site by car. There will be some political fallout but not much.
The tax revenues generated will be moving to a different state even if it's just 20 minutes away. It's a huge deal. Hundreds of millions of dollars for Chicago and Illinois' corrupt politicians lost. It will be noticed.

You all are forgetting the most important part.

The Shroud of Turin being the result of a burst of light and radiation as Jesus resurrected his own body is really really cool and on that merit alone I want it to be real.

I'll meet you halfway and say that if the tests from the late 80s have been disproven then I'm not ready to call foul on it and I'll say that I'm skeptical.
However, I'm also not going to drop to my knees and worship a golden calf on some shit that can just be disproven in another 35 years by a more accurate carbon dating process.
I think that's a fair compromise.

That's an interesting paper but it raises yet more questions if one is to believe the Shroud of Turin is legitimate.

I don't think we have any sort of doctrine about this, except that he probably looked like a levantine guy from the era.

Yeah, he was not Scandinavian, but blond Jesus isn't impossible. Ultra-brown Jesus isn't too. So far historical accounts seems to agree with the blond levantine, so I guess it is. It's not what matters after all.

It's important to remember that Christ's incarnation on Earth, via his mother, was a direct descendant of Judah, one of the 12 tribes of Jacob (Israel), and that his blood had not been "diluted" by ancestral miscegenation with non-Israelites/Jews*, as was common (despite God's express command against it) after the conquest of Canaan, during the 70-year Babylonian exile, and the Hellenist dominion of Judaea prior to the Maccabean revolt and the Roman conquest.

This was and had to be so to fulfill prophecy about the atoning work of Jesus being the perfect sacrifice, the Lamb truly without blemish, against whom no earthly sacrifice could measure. The Jews had their sacrifice, they just didn't know it then and remain obstinately ignorant of it to this day.

This is why I don't bother with idle speculation of what Jesus' incarnate form looks like. I'll find out when He graciously calls me home.

*Save for the Canaanite prostitute Rahab, who of God's mercy was made a child of Abraham.

That's exactly what I think about it
There's way too much strange thing about it to call it a forgery, but also too much strange thing to say it's true either. In any case, it's a really fascinating thing.

I would put a gif here of mulder telling Scully that he wants to believe, but we all know what would happen right now don't we mod?
I'm just really in the mood to post them now because now I know it's the forbidden fruit :story:

78% when it was down from $904 billion in 2024 to $901 billion in 2025.
It’s the difference between these two points in March and October:
IMG_8908.jpeg

That massive panic buy in Jan-March was responsible for ~40% of the annual trade deficit. That’s why 2026 will be interesting, since there is less incentive to buy before new tariffs. August, September, and October showed significant reductions in the trade deficit. Computer chip orders for data centers in Nov and Dec erased those gains though.

Also, the average person isn’t going to know or care about trade deficits. Employment numbers, inflation, and wages are what people care about. Hopefully the numbers for this year will look more like January than December.

Update on the Ayylmaos:
IMG_3618.jpeg
President Donald Trump accused former President Barack Obama of giving away classified information when he discussed aliens during a recent podcast appearance.
“He gave classified information, he’s not supposed to be doing that,” Trump told reporters Thursday aboard Air Force One.
Pressed on if that meant aliens were real, Trump said he did not know “if they’re real or not.”
“I can tell you he gave classified information, he’s not supposed to be doing that,” the president said. Trump went on to suggest he could get the former president “out of trouble” by declassifying the related information.
Obama was asked about extraterrestrial life earlier this month during an interview with liberal commentator Brian Tyler Cohen, and responded, “they’re real.”
“But I haven’t seen them. And, they’re not being kept in Area 51,” Obama added.
The comments sparked a flurry of speculation about life beyond Earth, though Obama later clarified he hadn’t intended to signal any special knowledge.
“Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there,” Obama posted on Instagram. “But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!”

Trump has come under repeated criticism from Democrats during his time in office for disclosing classified information, and was indicted on federal charges for willfully retaining classified defense documents after his first term. That case was subsequently dismissed when he won re-election in 2024.
Sucks the article is riddled with TDS, but saying “I could get him out of trouble by declassifying it” is pretty indicative, no?

The funny thing about brits and leftists bragging about prince andrews being arrested and that "do the right thing US, we arrested him now you arrest yours"; is that they refused to prosecute andrews the first time, will probably refuse to prosecute him this time, and that it's been discovered a few years ago that the british government was working with the bbc to surpress any news relating to a sex crime ring involving their higher ups.

I have to be honest with you fella, I still have no idea what NASDAQ and the Dow and all that other shit even has to do with the economy.
Isn't it just stocks? Isn't that rich people shit? Only rich people are buying and trading stocks in a company in any meaningful amount. So what does that have to do with a guy who's a cashier who got $5 dollars more an hour this year?
God damn, I'm on a roll today asking about stuff I have no idea about lol.
Children's hospital Minnesota.
Fucking lunacy.
Troonacy even!
We desperately need a troonacy reaction sticker that's just the moon with the trans colors on it.
do the right thing US, we arrested him now you arrest yours
Do the right thing UK, we are citizens have freedom of speech stop arresting people over fucking memes.

Their response to 300 gallons of raw sewage being dumped in the Potomac was "why wippipo upset about poo poo in da river? Poo poo in da river is de African wai."
I mean, it kinda is. Tests have shown that by the time the water in the Mississippi River reaches the Gulf it has passed through nine human bodies. Every community up and down the river has their intake not far from the next community's outtake.
