I have a feeling Raven is in for a bit of a shock when he takes her to his parents basement, or whatever trailer slightly above minimum wage in South Carolina gets you.
She's saying Claudia only wants him now that he has money? Her standards of what having money is unbelievable. His parent's don't seem like they came from money. Maybe lower middle class at most at one point but his parents are separated now I believe.
No wonder why she spent every last bit of Logan's paycheck as soon as it came in. It's like giving money to a child. You give them money and they instantly spend it and no matter how much they have, they seem to think it's a lot. She has no concept of money and handling it, let alone saving it. As someone else said, if he had money, he'd pay for her plane ticket or be offering to at least pay for half of it. She said in about 2 months she'd go back to the US and one way tickets for that time from Christchurch to Charleston are $800. It makes me wonder though how much Logan was getting paid when she was saying they were doing good and he was making a lot and doing hauls and eating out.

You can undoubtedly pinpoint Raven's fantasy relationship to her SC white trash plant hauler to when she announced she was moving back to the USA. At the time I thought the announcement she was moving back to the USA was strange, because there was no logical reason for it, but now it's obvious. She had found an online honey she thought she could hook up with.
I do look forward to the complete and utter trainwreck her move will be. Fantasy and reality are speeding towards each other like a freight train loaded with dynamite and it's going to be fantastic entertainment. At best I give the relationship one month before the epic meltdowns begin. She'll be forced to put up a brave face/deal with shit for the first month because she'll be totally fucked once she's broke and on the ground in the USA. I'll bet you that poor Logan will be the one stuck paying for her one-way ticket too.
(She'll leave 95% of her stuff in NZ as well, that garbage isn't worth the ridiculous shipping costs back to the USA. Whatever she can't take as baggage on the flight Logan will be stuck with. This is IF she actually leaves NZ in two months, I'm not convinced that when the time comes to fork over the $1,000 for the plane ticket and shit becomes real that it all might go down the shitter and she'll be stuck in NZ kissing Logan's ass trying to salvage her meal ticket.)

She's always been mysterious about who her US 'sponsor" would be. She mentioned it a bunch of times. I don't even understand the need for one, Raven is a US citizen so she should be able to get on a plane back home anytime. I would have assumed as her husband Logan could have gotten a visa but I didn't really think about it much. Maybe she renounced her citizenship?
Probably just a lie she told Logan to explain away this dude before it got too hot and heavy. "Oh, Josh is just a guy I met online who is going to sponsor us so we can go to the states. We can't go back to the US without a sponsor"
When it did become "love" that's when she decided to just dump Logan. He probably had little interest in coming to the US anyway, all that "NZ is full of assholes" talk came straight from her lips; he was likely just mimicking what he was supposed to say. Logan never struck me as the type of dude who wants to travel the world. He wants a decent job and to slam a couple pints with his mates after work and that's about it.
I just hope he discovers he really wants peace and easy before he goes for insane again which is what he's now used to. He may be a rescuer type.
I really hope Raven can get back here soon, I'm looking forward to the next chapter in Raven Starblood's Book of Crazy.

All she needs to come back to the USA is her passport and a plane ticket, she's not some fucking immigrant that needs a "sponsor" - what she needs a sponsor for is to buy her fat ass a plane ticket here and put her lazy ass up after she arrives.
It takes real effort to renounce your citizenship, you literally have to go to the embassy and do it in person and it's not a simple process. If you are retarded enough to do this you won't be returning to the USA - ever - even with a "sponsor." You're fucking done, no more USA for you, ever - it's irrevocable and you can't come back. I promise she didn't do this.
Raven probably got permanent resident status when she married Logan, she could go a step further after a few years and get dual-citizenship but I doubt that happened. The majority of Americans living permanently abroad just get dual-citizenship - there's no really no (non-crazy ass) reason to renounce USA citizenship unless you are really committed staying in a country which doesn't allow dual-citizenship - but NZ does. (Places like the Middle East and Russia are the types of places that don't allow it.)

She has said she still has her US citizenship so the only reason for a sponsor would had literally only been for Logan. Now that it's just her going, this Josh dude is all she has other than 1 other friend she could run to in the US (that I'm going to assume was her original real sponsor for Logan because she says if things don't work out with Josh, she still has this mysterious person to go to).

But you don't have to have one and can live off a resident permit so I highly doubt she has a citizenship for NZ. I don't see her spending the time or money on trying to obtain a citizenship when she's hated it there before she got with Logan. She was determined to go back to the US and she's getting what she wants. All we can do is wait for the shock she's going to get when she realizes that it's not what it was back in 2002 and no one gives a shit about her mall goth appearance and that no, WalMart is not going to hire you. I'll be surprised if she'll be able to find a job anywhere, if she even tries to get one.

But Logan wouldn't have needed a sponsor either, he was married to Raven a American citizen. He could have applied for a spousal visa and then filed a I-130 to get his US permanent resident card, and stayed here as long as he pleased.
Her stuff about sponsor is total bullshit - what she needs is someone to "sponsor" her plane tickets and a place to squat.

I wonder how this divorce will work. Assuming she ever gets out here, divorces take time, money and paperwork. I just know that Raven isn't going to handle that before she leaves, Logan either. So five years down the road when Logan hopefully meets a normal chick and wants to get married, he'll have to deal with her and get it taken care of. Long distance, with her in whatever crises she's in at the time. And since she'll have left toys and stuff behind, she'll want Logan to pay her for them is my guess.
I can see Raven just marrying again without finishing the divorce but I think that will be harder for Logan who will still be in NZ.

Raven will just take off and run away to someone else to leech off of like she has always done. Logan will probably just have to file for divorce under spousal abandonment after a year or so and take care of the cost and bullshit all by himself. Raven appears to an expert and making others clean up after the messes she creates.

The trouble is Raven would have to be able to prove that she could financially support Logan while they are living in the United States. She would be a family member sponsor, but they would need a joint sponsor involved who can provide a least a couple of years of tax returns and proof of income that they could be legally financially responsible for Logan while he is in the U.S. waiting for working papers/conditional green card/permanent residence.

Right, I forgot about that. The bar is pretty fucking low for that shit, so I didn't even think about it. But given we are talking about Raven she wouldn't be able to muster even the low requirements because she's a leech that doesn't/ hasn't worked for years. They could have easily come back to the USA (using a spousal visa) and then SHE could have gotten a job to ensure SHE could be his sponsor (it is a low bar, minimum wage would do it in most cases) but LOL at the idea of her holding down a job for any amount of time. Not even Hot Topic would want her old, fat gothy ass.

I already have a bad feeling about this relationship. Raven seems like she's way too clingy with Josh already and like she wants to make the relationship move along too quickly. She also seems to be restarting the BPD cycle of seeing a guy as her savior and the perfect one for her. Putting him on an unattainable pedestal. Which at least in her past has just inevitably led to her eventually lashing out when she realizes they can't measure up to her ideal.
I'm also kind of concerned for when she does move back to the States. Once again it's another unattainable thing, she sees the US as the Promised Land where everything will go right for her. I can very easily see her moving back and chimping out because everything isn't exactly the same as she remembers it being years ago. I also have a feeling her alternative looks won't be very well received in the conservative Deep South.
