personally, i blame opiate dependence for this behavior pattern. he'd been on extremely strong painkillers since his teenage years and becoming dependent on opiates just kind of dulls your moral compass and makes you a hollow person who only cares about feeling good/avoiding max-pain. you see this kinda shit in people who quit opiates that actually get them high and go on maintenance regimens, they just kinda become weird and checked out and sadistic.

From how I remember it Cripple Kike sold the site to Jim Watkins because he couldn't pay for it, and he got to stay as 8chan's admin and was also employed to work on 2chan. So despite selling the site of his own volition, despite Jim shelling out to keep 8chan online while it was bleeding money, and despite being a paid employee, HotWheels claimed he got "scammed" and Jim "stole" his unprofitable website from him. How does this make sense? This made him so butthrut in fact, he did a heel turn as a gay leftist furfag that kept shitting on his former userbase, even spending thousands to DDoS the site constantly and attempt a media campaign to get the site shutdown I think he was more than "a bit mean", frankly.

His troll's remorse was embarrassing and it's unfortunate that it defined his final years, but it's still unfortunate for him to die so young. Often I enjoyed hearing him speak. Not gonna celebrate or press S on his grave.

he only started claiming this after Jim banned lolicon and an enraged pedophile leaked the 8ch code revealing that fred had coded a database that logs IP's and user info so they could comply with LEO's looking for info. on CSAM posters btw. then magically the site was "stolen" and he was a goodboi who was just following orders.
