That tribal name is amazing. What language do they speak among the "LaPowW.owW.ow"? Do they say "how" as a greeting? Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm also laughing at the idea of someone graduating from high school in 2000 caring so much about a distinctly 70s group of rock stars.

The way she can't keep her own mind straight about basic things like how old she is, is one of the most fascinating parts of this one. Watching other schizos, they seem to at least have a basic autobiography they stick to. She's all over the map. One minute she's getting attention for trumpet playing from her favorite musicians, the next she doesn't care much about them anyway and has never contacted them and barely knows who they are.

I do regret talking about anyone on the net in anything but a positive light. That was years ago, because you brought it up, I came here to speak my mind again. NOT GOOD. I gave up going on boards to speak my mind about two years ago. I only say positive things to people online or nothing and I usually never vote people down. @marissa elienne you should ALWAYS feel welcome to speak your mind. You should always feel free to create music. You should always feel free to be an artist, a free thinker, a health food advocacy... be what you wanna be! And hell, I fully support your rights and freedom to talk down about mainstream artists. I will sit here all day and talk shit about Nickleback and Lil Wayne or other entertainers I believe are devoid of artistic value.

What drives people to come after you is your complete lack of humility. You make bold claims about being an unappreciated world-class composer, performer, and arranger. You couple that with being incredibly insulting to literally anyone else who has put out music in the past 40 years. You come across as arrogant and condescending. You demand that people support you while refusing to be supportive of anyone else. It's incredibly off-putting. It makes people want to knock you down a peg. You also simultaneously claim you want nothing to do with commercial success and admonish viewers because they don't give you money. What do you think "commercial success" IS? It is people who consume your art giving you money for it.

I guarantee if you just made music, but it up on the internet and presented it like "Hey everybody, here's a song I made! Hope you enjoy it!" Then you wouldn't get the negative attention that sets you off.

On an uncomfortable note, you do have some medical issues that could probably be alleviated with the proper medication. Deep down you partially know this is true, so you lash out at anyone who suggests it as a defense mechanism. You're not hiding anything.

But the truth is, there are people who want you to get help and have the proper support system that would make you happy. Please. Please. Be happy

In the past forty years, the music industry has taken a nose dive including the older people who did not keep up their high standards for the most part. I do not like cursing in music and nudity in the arts ...it does not fit in it.
I could tolerate an extremely little of it. I am not tolerant of many things that are going. However, they are intolerant of people who do not curse all the time and people who having high standards in music.
Who cares if mentally disturbed people insult me via the net. They are more than just people who have an opinion that I am not humble, they are mentally disturbed. Who cares if you do not think that I am humble.
That industry is not humble. They isolate musicians of all kinds to promote repetitive music that has to be wha they call cohesive. They do not like diversity or individuality. People are NOT all insulting me online. So that is also a lie. Not all people are mentally ill and stalking me online. You have a mental illness. If you disagree with someone fine, but saying that they are not humble is wrong. What is humble to you? Taking drugs, drink, not eating properly, not having standards in music, not cleaning your clothing? Walking with your head down? I am not going to unconfident. I do not dress in grungy clothing. I am not into self mastication and otherwise.

Being humble to me is realizing that everyone has value and that my value isn't greater than those around me. I'm not better or more important than you, and you're not better or more important than me. I think that's the disconnect. I get the feeling that you perceive yourself as superior to me and to others. Being humble is respecting the choices and tastes of others.

You're right that pop culture has become more vulgar as time goes on. I'll give you that. People use vulgar language as a crutch to feel more "edgy." But there are plenty of popular artists who don't swear much if at all.

Also, you can't criticize today's culture for the over use of drugs and then go on to sing the praises of bands from the 60s/70s. I would argue there was just as much if not more drug use back then.

People love diversity. I'm not sure where your standard for "diversity" lies where you say that diversity is being stifled. There's Alabama Shakes, an amazingly talented blues rock band fronted by an overweight half black woman. There's Daft Punk, a couple of aging French guys dressed up as robots, there's Simon and Garfunkel a couple of Jewish singer/songwriters who STILL sell out almost every concert they play.... literally almost any kind of music you can think of is being performed by every kind of person out there. Are there still issues with certain groups having easier access to high society in the arts, of course. But diversity does exist

Just because most people don't like the kind of music YOU like doesn't mean they're not cultured.

By all means, be self-confident. Enjoy what you do and be proud of it. But just don't become convinced that what you do is automatically better than what everyone else is doing.
