Someone once said that Trump has been stuck in the 80s regarding tariffs, and they are correct. Tariffs have been used since before America was a country (it was used to raise money on items being transported between the colonies), but with globalization, you have to set certain terms and another nation is allowed to contest them. The issue here is that manufacturing is not coming back to the US and more and more companies are offshoring them. This started in the 90s and has never stopped. Why pay an American worker a fair wage - with benefits! - when a Mexican or a Chinaman can do it cheaper? When manufacturing was all done in America, America really could boss people around because it produced all the weapons, all the steel, and paid its workforce handsomely so they could afford nice homes and not shitty one bedroom apartments. Now it's all done in China, and that's why they have so much leverage over everyone else.

Tariffs on an already stressed American workforce would raise prices, and they did - and then some had to be removed, such as those on beef, and be painted off as a 'win'.

It's funny how other decisions such as Roe v Wade or Obergefell is done and won't be touched upon, but a ruling on tariffs can just be thrown back at them despite the conservative bent of the court saying no. What gets me is that the Soros-connected Treasury Secretary outright admits Americans won't get any rebates on them, only corporations, and there's no outcry over that because they just don't give a shit. The Superbowl halftime show from a Puerto Rican who can't even be understood by other Spanish speakers gets more outrage.

Now, there's the Iran War. You can't forgive student debt because that'll add trillions to the deficit, but you can dump 10 trillion on a war with a nation that makes Bibi mad. The guys who broke the toilets on the USS Gerald Ford are heroes.

You are absolutely right, Iran would be so much worse than Iraq. It cannot be emphasized enough how much of an absolute shitshow this kiddy diddling robber baron wannabe would be pulling our country into if he invades Iran.

Consider what a debacle the Iraq war was. It led to military entanglement in the region for well over a decade, saw over a million casualties including thousands of dead Americans, and worsened a global threat of reciprocal jihadist terrorism. And compared to Iran, Iraq was a podunk backwater.

Iran is a country of 90 million people with a much more capable military than Iraq's was and, on top of that, a vast and intricate network of terrorist proxies.

Yes, America and Israel would win a war against them.

And yes, Trump would go down in history as getting us stuck in a far worse quagmire than Dubya did. Which, so far, was one of the few good things that could be said about Trump - that at least he hadn't done anything as bad as W. Bush dragging us into the mistake of Iraq/Afghanistan.

People forget that Persians are not Arabs. They have a long history of well-trained militaries and have won against the Romans, Greeks, and other highly advanced people. We saw some of those hypersonic missiles get past the Iron Dome and hit Israel. The excuse that they have to do it because 40k civilians have died and are getting run over by the regime only to bomb them back to the stone age to an increasingly broke and antsy population will not sit well. You're going to...bomb a nation over killing protesters while killing protesters on your own soil (and this isn't to debate Renee and Pretti; they were shot and killed and that's that)? OK. There are Persians who hate the regime AND do not want a pro-Israel Pahlavi because it'll put them in the same subservience as before.
