Dealing with the Palestinians and beating the shit out of the iranians are two different things.

Messages are appearing on hacked Iranian media channels under the heading "Help has arrived," calling on Iranian military personnel to defect. The messages, broadcast in Persian through the BadeSaba channel, urge Iranian soldiers to lay down their weapons and promise amnesty to those who do. One message states that regime forces will face consequences for actions against Iranian civilians. Another calls on army personnel not to fear the Iranian people, stating that those who defend civilians will be protected in return. The messages describe the operation as being carried out for the freedom of Iranian citizens. It is not immediately clear who is responsible for the hack, though it coincides with the Mossad's public outreach to Iranian citizens through its Persian-language Telegram channel.

Rumors are that they struck during the morning since Iran will now have to all day the pull out their TEL missile launchers out of their bunkers risky to do during daytime. If they wait until night to strike, its possible the Islamic Republican won't even exist.

Edit: Also, catching everyone in the morning while they are sleepy and going to work.

I'm gonna laugh my fucking ass off if when this is all done, they get camera crews into some hole-in-the-wall laboratory near the capitol for an impromptu press release, go live, and then wheel out some big, fugly, lumpy Fat Man lookalike, only banged together much more quickly and with far less care, and then they announce "this is why we moved when we did. It looks like a piece of shit, but there was high confidence it would actually be at least partially functional, and we couldn't allow them to actually conduct a test."

Then one of the tail "fins" just falls off and clanks to the floor, and instead of steel or something sturdy it sounds like aluminum or fuckin' wood or something, a bit of smoke wafts out the front of the unit, there's a moderate "popping" sound, followed by the sound of a bunch of little chunks of "something" scattering and falling apart inside the metal body of the thing. The press corps turns ghostly white (except a couple pairs of underwear), and the one dude with enough sense to bring a dosimeter takes a quick look "just in case," breathes a sigh of relief, laughs, and walks out of the press conference to go write a really funny story for the evening edition...

I think Israel is just the opening salvo, and the US will strike more as the operation goes on; we parked a lot of shit in the Gulf, we're going to put it to use.
