If you think positive, you can manifest better knee cartilage?
Listen shitlord, it's the doctors' job to invent and inject fresh cartilage. And how dare you assume weight has anything to do with cartilage loss; thin people have cartilage damage too!!
^ what they actually believe. On that vile "this is thin privilege" tumblr the constant (totes ethical!) medical advice they give is that a fat person should always demand the exact same medical treatments a thin person gets for the same condition, including surgery when they're too fat for it.
Their line goes that doctors are lazy and just don't WANT to operate on fats, and they need to get over it. Never mind that:
- their hearts can't take it
- special beds, special surgical and diagnostic tools to the tune of millions for large mammal sized CT scanners, and a team to list their prone bodies without their own backs going out are all necessary (and to hold up their fupas while the surgeon works as fat as they can)
- that they're more prone to fatal blood clots because their circulation is shot and they take too long to get mobile post-op
- that anesthesia is fat soluble, so in addition to needed more of it because they're huge, and that due to their fat they're more at risk of OD because it's hard to gauge enough to knock them out verses how much gets absorbed into their copious fat stores
- And last but not least, because their wounds are so ginormous (because they themselves are big, and it's almost impossible to access their insides), they're more prone to post surgical infections due to the size and depth of the wounds; the fact that their rolls are sweaty and yeasty and it's difficult for them to keep themselves clean; and because their circulatory systems are already stressed to the max, the poor blood circulation slows healing time.
