Can we stop giving Kengel attention? It's obvious that he wants it and expects us to post about him.

Let's make it a general rule: whichever fag whiteknights on Chris' facebook statuses will be ignored the shit out of on discussion of such statuses. Unless of course it's Anna but I'm pretty sure died of aids or something because I never hear from her anymore. :anna:

It generally is a rule. We just have to keep reminding people it is.

Places like Nintendo and Sega have a complex relationship with fan-art. On the one hand, it is a way for people to get super-involved with their products and perhaps boost publicity/awareness, which increases profits. They also don't want to be seen as discouraging any type of fandom. On the other hand "fan-art" can be taken to a level where it is basically unlicensed merchandise. If Chris started selling merchandise that was hard to distinguish with true and honest sega merchandise, they would be pissed.

Basically, it is illegal, and Sega and Nintendo are on the lookout for knock-offs. That doesn't mean they will jump in any time they have a potential legal claim. Chris hasn't cost them any money (he may actually have boosted their product awareness a tiny bit), and prosecuting him in any way could end up going wrong for them. They send him a cease and desist, he makes a video ranting and raving about it, the video goes a little viral, they are now involved in something. Not saying that is particularly likely, but there is nothing to gain, so why run that risk. If I worked at the legal department of Sega and Nintendo, and someone brought Sonichu to my attention (which some weens might have), I would smile shake my head, and go out for a smoke.

And let's face it: Chris's stuff will never, ever be mistaken for the real deal.

Even Mexican bootleggers would scold Chris for his lack of quality control.

That's okay, I shouldn't have done it. I'm sorry, I should know better.(:_(

Awwww! You know we can't stay mad at you!:heart-full::heart-full::heart-full::heart-full:

I'm just going to offer an official refutation to this to protect our reputation. And after this, I don't want anyone discussing him in this thread anymore because I'm not going to let him get the attention.

I'd love to know what this retard thinks our "embedded trolling plan" was with the care package. Many people chipped in real money to buy Chris essential living supplies as well as a money order for him to buy whatever the hell he wanted, including Legos if he so wished. We have no way of publicizing for the sake of "entertainment", what his response to the care package was. Seriously, we have no idea what he said or did after he got it (except for the Facebook posting confirming receipt). Our best guess is the same as anyone else who looked at his public Facebook messages. Regardless of his response, there was one sole motive for the care package: helping Chris after the fire. What Chris did after that was not under our control in any way and we were not going to back out on a goodwill gesture that 99% of people would appreciate because Chris might blow his lid over it (which he ultimately did not).

If anything, some jackass (probably a forum lurker) tried to inject his own trolling plan into the mix by diverting the package using the public tracking number, and it almost didn't get there. Thankfully he got it and it was well-appreciated, which had succeeded the sole purpose of sending it out.

Unless I'm mistaken, is he selling that art for $222 or is it a ween bid? Now he's desperate for money and yet he doesn't want to work as in have a job not draw Sonichu comics.

Fairly sure it's a ween bid. I'll be exceptionally surprised if Chris gets paid for this once the auction closes. Hell, the auction might not actually conclude--there's a chance that eBay might shut down the auction themselves.

Which is likely the plan from those idiots.

I can see weens trying to start an 'eBay saga'

But at least in that scenario Chris would likely be trolling himself, so I do give the weens that.

I'll just leave this here:

§ 506. Criminal offenses6

(a) Criminal Infringement. —

(1) In general. — Any person who willfully infringes a copyright shall be punished as provided under section 2319 of title 18, if the infringement was committed —

(A) for purposes of commercial advantage or private financial gain

Still, I like the idea of him capitalizing on his internet "fame" to begin with.

Chris still believes that he's not committing copyright infringement (remember, his dad and his English teacher said it was OK, and he's got that copyright certificate!), so anybody posting on his Facebook wall telling him that he's violating fair use laws are just wasting their breath.

The only way Chris is going to listen is if/when eBay pulls the auction, and even then I doubt he'll do much except maybe complain.

I doubt anyone's going to bother going after Chris. Although it would probably better for him if Sega/Nintendo/Ebay did come down on him. "LOCAL HOMELESS AUTISTIC BULLIED BY CORPORATIONS FOR TRYING TO RAISE MONEY FOR HIMSELF AND INVALID MOTHER."
