Plastic surgery is actually a huge trend and obsession in South Korea. Hell, some K-pop groups are even forced into it with the risk of getting fired.

Speaking of I had acupuncture in Korea (yes I know, I just like how it feels). Anyways, there was a poster for getting at least one inch taller, I wish I took a pic. I was curious so looked into it and they basically use the same thing you would use on people with growth conditions. I.e breaking your legs and waiting for bone to regrow. Not sure how to put it as I had not seen this before but my god. This was being marketed to normal people, not someone with a condition.

Walk around Seoul and you see booths and booths selling shoe lifts for men and women. An inch goes a mile.

Drug overdose was suspected. He was taking pills after having had so many painful surgeries, and for the aftermath of having your face stretched into oblivion (that shit hurts, at the level he did it.) Because his partner didn't want to make a spectacle of the overdose, it was just "he died quietly in his sleep at the age of 50-whatever, it's a mystery".

Poor Pete Burns from Dead or Alive. I also didn't know he died.

Pete fuckin' burns and his exploding lips man.

He got lip implants in the 90s which migrated round his face, exploded and nearly killed him. He'd always been one of those Plastic surgery addicts, he's had multiple nose jobs, had something done to his eyelids, countless botox, cheek implants.

He managed to sue the surgeon who did it to pay for a lot of the "repair" surgery IIRC, he's had OVER TWO HUNDRED surgeries to try and fix his lips.

Pete’s flaming lips were filling with fluid and he had to return to the surgeon to get them drained.

“He held me down on the operating table and punched two syringes in,” he revealed.

“At least a pint and a half of yellow steaming fluid was vomited out of the lip.”

Pete’s lips continued to inflate and he was forced to drain them.

Worst still, the permanent filler that was injected into his lips began migrating all over his face.

“I’ve had a major operation a week for two years to remove it from my cheeks where it had migrated, my Adam’s apple, the back of my eyes…” he said.
“They couldn’t do anything about the liver and the kidneys. I had to excrete that out.”

After 200 reconstructive surgeries on his lips to remove all the frightening filler, the surgeon could finally begin reviving Pete’s lifeless lips.

“I had a piece taken out of my stomach to make a lower lip and then a piece taken out of my stomach to make an upper lip shape,” he said.

They're idiots. They try to screw with their bodies for just cosmetic reasons and are somehow shocked and distressed when the results end up shitty. Whenever you go for a procedure like that, you know you run the risk of having something go wrong. There's plenty of pics online to show unfavorable results and even entire television series about it.
And yet they still do it. They pay lots and lots of money to do it. They are the biggest lolcows and their stupidity and horrific bloated faces will never cease to amuse me.

One infamous (possible) example in the kpop world is singer Bom Park. She's well known as a vocalist in the girl group 2ne1. Plastic surgery rumors have been spreading since 2010, but there are still fans (and her previous company) who are adamant that it's a combination of makeup and swollen lymph nodes. There are also rumors of her being addicted. If it's true, then that's really depressing.

Linda Evans was stunning in her younger days and probably would have aged gracefully into an still very attractive older woman if she'd just left her face alone, but whatever she's had done just makes her look lopsided.

Also, as annoying as I find her, Kim Kardashian was actually quite a pretty girl with unique features before she had all her work done. In the last picture she looks like she'd melt if she stood too close to an open flame. ETA I know she swears it's mostly contouring but- Jesus, her face barely moves at times. Her contouring makeup must be some industrial spackle type shit to get that effect.

Kim could have stopped at 2010 and it would have been fine.

I watched a documentary on this one, it looks so brutal. You're in the hospital for months and have to relearn how to walk and it's expensive as hell. Here's an article that shows the diagram:

Oddly I can't find many "botched" operations, but there's been so many and the chance of complication is so high, you have to go to some weird doctor willing to risk it.

They are never seen (at least by me) as natural, playful young girls. They are overdressed, in costumes and "fashion" taken from the 1800s like your grandma would wear, and super posed. So they appear older.

I mean they don't look that bad. I wonder if it's just because everyone's mental image of the Olsen Twins is them as teenagers so we automatically go "wow she's aged" when we see them?

For 30 year olds, they look age appropriate tbh. They don't look younger than 30 but I wouldn't say they look much older than 30.
