Feedback Technical Grievances

The thread highlight button is taking me backwards when it's meant to go forwards, taking me to the same post, or not working at all.

Hope this is the place for this and I'm not just outing myself as an illiterate retard for missing something somewhere.

There's a thread on a very specific, niche topic that I was interested in reading, specifically this one, but any time I try to open it I get the "You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action" error page. Asked the guy who made the thread and he wasn't aware of any issues. Additionally, there was a recent Community Feature that's now gone linking to the Toji Suzuhara thread, but I got the same error page.

I'm not sure why I'm unable to view these threads. Did I miss something somewhere? Are these threads in the Supporter forum and that's why I can't open them? Or is something fucky on my end?

its the top secret inner circle forum, you dont have at least 200-500 posts yet.

Embeds for Vimeo are not working (I don't know when they last worked).

I'm having trouble uploading videos again. Anyone got a good/reliable solution to make them smaller?
- open in Avidemux
- change video output on the left to Mpeg4 AVC (x264)
- click "configure" right below that
- in the first tab (general), set encoding mode to constant bitrate (single pass) and manually enter bitrate
- press OK, save as... in the upper left corner
- make sure the final output is AVC/AAC (video/audio codecs); I would advise against using HEVC because it still isn't 100% compatible with all browsers

I can explain how to do more advanced things like cropping and resizing with the same software if you're interested.

The shiny new court docket tracker feature is nice, but all the document links don't work. Often they don't show up at all.

Appeals docket, no links:

Current Utah docket, has links but they're dead.

top dead link from that docket: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/greer-...documents/4/gov.uscourts.utd.148809.457.0.pdf

Also, more of a UX issue, but when there's multiple dockets it's hard to distinguish them, at least in dark mode. They could use a 2 pixel contrasting border. Or maybe make the top and bottom horizontal divs a separate color, to visually bracket it better.

Same issue in the h3h3 multiple lawsuit thread.

IMO you could streamline by dropping the Parties section, it's not informative in the context of a lawsuit thread, and it makes things look more cluttered.

Layout broke.

The PDF links should now all work.
Working great on the Greer thread, but the h3h3/TED Entertainment dockets are all still empty, no PDF links at all. My newly moved LFJ lawsuit thread only has a PDF link for the main Complaint, which works, but no other docs have links.

Is this a "wait for rate limits to clear" kind of thing? Judging from the list being limited to most recent 30, I assume there's an API limitation somewhere.

Something is fucky wucky with my alerts, I'll get one for a quote/threadmark approval and go about my sneeding, I'll go to bed and get up 16 hours later and resume my sneeding and... I have the same alerts again? This sometimes happens many hours later, sometimes 30 seconds later, it is most disturbing to the demeanour of my sneeding, anyone else get this?

Alerts have always been fucky. I will make a post that should automatically get you on the alert list for the thread, it will update me twice then die. I have to manually unwatch/watch to get it to go again. I get an average of 2 weeks out of any thread I set alerts on, they never stick and always stop sooner or later, especially if I don't post much on them.

I created this pixel art gif which uploads correctlly but it completely glitches out by cluttering and speeding the image when used as my PFP. Any help or fix?

EDIT: it turns out that the PFP uses a thumbnailed version rather than full image version as posted here.

This is how it looks when used as PFP/thumbnail.

In my year and a half of .gif pfps I've found it's a bit of a crapshoot of dropped frames, lost timing, and 10MB upload limits.

If you switch to .webp format all those problems go away and you get a more efficient pfp. It can have a longer animation sequence and loads faster. I export the project as .webm on OpenShot, then use FFblast to convert it to .webp.

If you're code illiterate like me, the LLMs can walk you through it step-by-step. Probably there is some program out there that can just export to .webp in one go. idk, I have my system.
