It looks like shit though, especially in motion and dark areas (both in that clip), worse than the livestream. Yeah it's fine for quickly watching and catching up, but what about rewatching clips years down the line and preserving history.The stream is not high bitrate, the stream footage itself is compressed to oblivion. This is a screenshot right from the stream at max possible resolution and it looks awful.
There is no "high bitrate" gained here, it's basically as large as possible for no benefit.
I compress higher than necessary unless something in the clip needs to be read but this is my basic Fishtank preset. You lose no content, it's web optimized, and loads faster for everyone.
