tbh its really hard to make a cat obese (unless ur a negligent redditor), their bodies build up a lot of muscle naturally even tho they sleep 18 hours a day, especially ferals who run around during most of their waking time

probably all anon did was make them even stronger, hell, i read somewhere that well-fed cats tend to hunt even more

even if he made some of the cats obese,a fat cat still has enough explosive strength for one quick burst of speed, and thats all a cat needs to hunt a bird really

they won't be hunting snakes tho, that can take a cat quite a while of jumping around and evading the snake until the snake either gets too exhausted (reptiles have even worse stamina that cats), or makes a mistake and gets grappled and skull crushed

hell, ive once seen a cat successfully hunt a monitor lizard (desert monitor tho, which is rather small for a monitor lizard, 120cm long, 3 kilos)

it resembled a monster hunter turf war really

he eventually managed to get it toppled over and bite its throat off, cuz while it was signifcantly longer, he was a fairly large cat, like 10 kilos, and mass moves mass

anon did remove their fear of humans, so theyre more likely to find a home

Fun fact about Teddy Bears. They're named for President Theodore Roosevelt, AKA Teddy Roosevelt (ironically, he hated this nickname lol). An avid huntsman and nature enthusiast, a political cartoon was made about a hunt Roosevelt attended in which he refused to shoot a subdued black bear, deeming it "unsportsmanlike". Later variations of that cartoon would go on to inspire the creator of the teddy bear. A really cool story, I think.

I learned all that stuff young, I was born and raised in North Dakota which was Theodore Roosevelt's favorite state and you can't go far in ND without Teddy's influence. It's why the official nickname of ND is the Rough Rider state and ND has the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. My dad wanted to name me after him but my mom put the kabosh on that. (bitch )
He's still my favorite president though, because he was a tough mother fucker. A Bull Moose. It was a missed opportunity because he could have been a Bear, but Bears while they do exist in North Dakota, aren't quite common, at least not anymore. Usually the come up from South Dakota or over from Montana.

Some cats only eat what they need, others eat as much as they're provided and you have to ration them. You can definitely overfeed those. Some of them eat so much they end up vomiting (so they dont get fat) while others keep it down and put on the pounds.
