I got the sense it’s a mixture of both. She might have briefly gotten feelings then he rejected her and that kind of removed the “halo effect” he had towards her and she probably noticed his flaws and convinced herself she wasn’t into him anyway. That’s just speculation though

Edit to add: part of liking someone and being attracted to them is the feeling of it being mutual. Most people prefer to have their infatuation go both ways.
