Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

I agree, but again, people aren't understanding the context of the conversation. It begins with someone asking how Iran could ever claim victory over a ceasefire and me answering that. I didn't say they won, but there's a pretty straightforward way to see how this is the best feasible outcome for them.

Them getting obliterated by the United States (and Israel) on the battlefield was always a given. Any realistic prediction of how it could go for them has that 'baked in'. The real variable was whether or not the regime would withstand the beating or ultimately collapse due to internal and external pressures.
I posted before, Iran's win condition is literally "am I alive?. They could be living in a situation worse than a Haitian slum and they would claim that this is victory because they are alive. We're never actually going to defeat them. They're an ideology it's impossible, but you have to cut them down so they're impotent. For example Nazism (real nazism) still exists as an ideology but it no longer is the ideological threat that it was in the '30s and '40s. Now it's only popular amongst the retarded, And only exists as a feasible ideology in the mind of children and groypers.

I still can't believe the Brits elected this absolute tool. He has probably the least charisma of any politician I have ever seen. Michael Dukakis and Mitt Romney look manly by comparison. His whole demeanor oozes with slimy coward energy. He's like a real life Arnold Rimmer, but with less charisma. Seriously, how the fuck did this guy get elected?
I’m assuming he’s the migrant pick

The gool ol' Ethan Ralph win con...

I have a bit more to say about all of this more than saying that striking when the iron is hot.

Let me get this out of the way first. This conflict, while inevitable, is incredibly fucking stupid. I don't give a fuck about people who enjoy the results of bombing campaigns or the thick of what war is. This violent spat isn't really about what the media and people with agendas to push say.

No, this is about a violent regime bent on destruction getting their 15 minutes of fame by getting their shit pushed all the way back into their fucking stomach. Without powerleveling too much, just know that I have a LOT of reasons to hate the regime in Iran. Many good people I knew died at the hands of that regime for no reason other than they pissed them off.

Which of course leads me into what is happening now and why I initially said all of this was premature. From where I sit, the bombing campaign, while totally worth it, isn't going to control the strait. That's what the regime has been using as a threat for decades. It's premature because the screws could have been tightened via sanctions and diplomacy. But the bleeding hearts won out with bombs again.

I hear people talking about using boots on the ground to take the islands and whatnot. The actual reality is far worse. You want to control the strait? You have to capture or level Bandar Abbas, and you have to get Oman on your side in doing so. At this point, I think the UAE would just give anyone a hallmark thank you card with targeting coordinates.

I fucking hate war, but I know what it makes people capable of. And I know the human condition means conflicts are inevitable. Something I totally hate are people that try to grift or stymie off them. I wouldn't even call what has happened in Iran a "war". I would call that incredible rape with no lube. I would not call it victory.

I genuinely can't understand people who point to wargames as a serious point on how effective or ineffective a military is, war is not a carefully controlled setting where you can tinker around with the variables and add or discard background factors, war is an extremely chaotic affair where shit just happens outside of anyone's control, yeah, you can influence the battlefield , but that's all you can really do at most, it's up to the games of chance to decide what would happen.

Actual wargames are just theoretical exercises generals do in their spare time to test certain conditions or strategies, it's a "simulation" that doesn't actually match what real warfare looks like.
Reminds me. Wasn't it Patton who got in trouble in a wargame for having his men beat a cavalry charge by hiding under sheets and jumping up at the horses? Someone did this.

That being said times of Israel doesn't have the map posted there even, it's probably just referring to this map directing traffict to go through Iran's "toll booth" islands instead of near Oman

Yesterday's bombing campaign (which is continuing today) has been named "Operation Eternal Darkness". "We warned Naim Qassem that Hezbollah would pay a very high price for attacking Israel on behalf of Iran, and today we fulfilled another step in our promise," said Israel Katz.

The IDF deepend their incursions into southern Lebanon, having besieged Bint Jbeil, which many Hezbollah fighters fled to after the beginning of the invasion. It is the largest Shi'ite village on Israel's border (4km northwards) and was the village in which Nasrallah gave his speech about Israel being like a spider web.

Both operations are being conducted based on intelligence gathering and planning conducted in recent weeks by the Intelligence Branch and Northern Command, knowing that the IDF could operate in Lebanon even during a ceasefire with Iran.

A security source noted that despite Iran's repeated demand to include the IDF's cessation of fighting in Lebanon in the ceasefire agreement with the US, an agreement was reached between the political echelons in Washington and Jerusalem to disconnect the two arenas. The Pakistani Prime Minister, who brokered the ceasefire, did explicitly say that Lebanon was included in the ceasefire as Iran demanded, but in Washington, President Trump and his aides made it clear that Israel was free to fight in Lebanon despite the ceasefire. Ha'aretz reports both Iran and Pakistan were under the impression that Lebanon would've been included.

The IDF estimates that the Iranians are interested in preserving the ceasefire and will therefore be content with extending the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and will not launch attacks on Israel. A recent assessment has emerged in Israel that it is the surviving civilian government officials, and not the senior Revolutionary Guards, who are now more dominant in the current government in Tehran. (Although other Israeli estimates report differently)

Meanwhile, the IDF has published footage of the operations of the Paratroopers Brigade operating under the 98th Division in southern Lebanon. Israeli sources report the forces have besieged significant Hezbollah forces in the last 2 days and managed to eliminate 60 of their fighters (possible that they're referring to Bint Jbeil).

Over the past week, IDF soldiers of the Paratroopers Brigade, operating under the 98th Division, have expanded their targeted ground operations into additional areas of southern Lebanon.

The brigade’s troops have established operational control of the area and continue to strike Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure sites in order to reinforce the forward defensive area and remove threats to the residents of northern Israel.

As part of the soldiers’ activities, the troops eliminated dozens of Hezbollah terrorists and located a range of weapons, including firearms, magazines, and explosive devices that had been concealed and for use against IDF soldiers.

Use nukes to create a canal through Oman and UAE bypassing the strait of Hormuz. Why hasn't anyone thought of this yet?
Because using nukes to connect the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf instead would achieve both military and economic goals1000031381.jpg
