I wanna say that I can see Chris lying about receiving the money for this, but then I can also see him tardraging over losing $1,000 and being in the hole by another hundred.

Only time will tell.

As far as I understand in order to buy a buy it now you have to pay it right then and there. CWC may have somehow made 1000 dollars. This doesn't sit right with me if this is true.

The "winner" didn't use the Buy It Now. He made a $1000 offer and Moobs McGurk jumped on it without thinking (what a surprise!). Now everything will be in limbo while the bidder makes a vanishing act.

PS: Here's a photo of the winning bidder:

OK, it's confession time.

In real life, I'm Pierre Odimyar. I created Ebay almost twenty years ago with the sole intention of trolling Chris. It's been years of hard work and many sleepless nights away from my family, but I've finally succeeded. Now that my evil trolling plans have finally come together and I've tricked Chris into thinking his drawings are actually valuable, it's time for my next step.

I'll be using my personal fortune of billions of dollars to buy the entire Sonichu franchise. I have a small army of graphic artists and illustrators ready to go. They'll be reworking the entire Sonichu epic, but this time they'll be including pickles on all the Rosechus. Then we'll use the pages to lure Chris from the STRAIGHT path and turn him fully gay, and keep all the fresh boyfriend free girls for ourselves!!

Try and stop me Chris! Mwahahahahahahahah!

Getting a refund of eBay fees is not going to be difficult, not even for Chris. He accepted the $1k offer through eBay, and iirc his listing specified PayPal only. eBay own PayPal, and they won't even add the $100 final value fee to his account until the money shows up (if it does, of course). They will also chase for the money on his behalf, and, if the buyer doesn't pay, they will automatically refund the listing fees as well.

What interests me is the theory that Chris bought stuff on credit when he saw the auction listings hit five figures. I'm not doubting he'd be reckless enough to do it, but surely he doesn't have many available lines of credit given his big debts and small income?

Actually, they won't wait for the money to arrive before eBay wants it's percentage. The policy is that they have is "Bidder didn't pay? F*ck you! Where's MY money?" and after a certain amount of time that no payment had ever arrived, Chris can file the required forms to have his money given back. But still, this could mean that Chris would be in the hole for $100 for at least a few weeks while all this red tape processes.

And don't forget, the buyer, even if he does throw a grand into this like the Double Dodo Brain he is*, has 45 days to make up some BS claim that the item was not as described (if Chris really did use Scotch tape and claim that the pic is "laminated", then that there is a false description), eBay would most likely award in favor of the buyer and Chris is out the original and his $1000 that he'd better pay up or get his eBay/PP accounts locked.

* I have a suspicion that DDB is actually a small group of DBs who pitched in to make this $1000 offer, making Chris into their LOLcow Timeshare, as it were.

What sort of mental gymnastics will he perform in order to explain to himself the fact that no one is going to pay Five Thousand Dollars for his infantile drawing?
I can tell you exactly: He'll blame the trolls for not being people who would be willing to pay $5,000.

Chris really believes that not getting the picture would be a serious punishment for anyone.

I doubt he did that. If he had available credit, he would have *already* bought Legos with it.

Take it as you will, but I have a ween insider who says that 1) Chris has NOT gotten paid yet, 2) Chris claims the violin was "taken off ebay for having a famous name in the title". He's talking about the Strad. Which is dumb..there's like 50 of them listed and or sold daily with that in the title... and 3) Chris has kept with the story a few times that he needs the money to (and I quote directly) "Support my 76 year old mother and we both have a lot of debt". He has also said, "The money is basically mine, I will pay some debt but there is other things I need too at this time". No clue if he means lego or like house payments and living necessities like groceries and clothes.

Of course, this is stuff we already know and or have already assumed. Just thought I'd chime in with stuff I've received.

Guys, sorry for being such a slow in the mind, but I just checked the final auction and it says sold? For $2.500? Is this legit?

It's this. Chris has been maxing out credit cards left and right for his entire adult life. When he saw the spike in bids, he may have thought "now I can buy even more legos", but it's just as likely he would have rationalized whatever purchases he was going to make anyway, even if he didn't think there was money coming to him.

Oh, totally. Chris is gonna be rolling in money soon.

If he said "there is other things I need too at this time", you can be damn certain that he meant Legos.

And by "paying some debt", I'm also certain that means "only paying the minimum on my credit card bills".

Yeah, when I read the screen caps and message I was like "oh, 'other things I need' = lego obviously". How dumb does Chris assume we are? He was willing to sell his dad's things and BEG people for lego... and now all of sudden he's 'worried' about his mother and their debt? Pawlease.

Man this thing is developing fast. I never would have imagined he'd actually draw a picture and attempt to sell it on eBay multiple times even after the auction gets pulled. I am enjoying all the photoshops though.

This truly does feel like the CWC Renaissance though, others may beg to differ, but there's really seemed to have been a lot of content in the past 3 weeks.

People here keep on saying this, even though it is not true. I think people just want it to be true. Chris will never owe ebay a cent for his failed auctions. Ebay will only ask for it's money if the buyer pays. Ebay owns paypal and requires you to use it, therefore they know whether payment has been made or not before the seller does. Chris is not going to lose any money over this aside from the frame and lamination. Nobody is going to end up being legally required to pay Chris for their bids, either. I've been selling on ebay for years, I know how it works. Just accept that the comedy of seeing Chris getting frustrated is all there is here. He's not financially fucking himself unless he's spending away money on his credit cards in anticipation of what he thinks he'll get for his "art".
