"Current year" terms that piss you off

"Unaliving".

If you have to sanitize an inherently dark subject to make it more "appealing" to people that get uncomfortable by it, then you and those people should be flogged and tortured until you contemplate killing yourself.

I have never used "unalive" unironically and never will. It's one of the most retarded terms of the past few years. Some people use it to trick the algorithm because muh demonitization. Death is a fact of life and people need to learn to come to terms with it already.

You'd have to convince Coca cola company of that. Coca cola only wants to run ads under videos that make people happy. You can't convince Americans to guzzle down more high fructose corn syrup if they just watched a video discussing how a group of tranny pedos murdered a girl after gangraping her. So you will get your "group of dress positive PDFfiles unalived a child after ganggraping her".

It's dumb because everyone still knows what you're saying, you just sound like a retard. It's sort of like "N word." What word does that actually put in your head?

"Relationship with food"
I've been on a health kick lately, exercising and trying to lose some weight, so I've been seeing this A LOT recently, and it sounds dumber and dumber each time I read it.

The only way it doesn't sound retarded is when it's actually someone with an eating disorder that thinks eating a slice of bread is going to make them fat(ter) or the kind of thing that made Karen Carpenter think she was fat when she was starving herself to death. Or whatever the fuck's going on with Eugenia Cooney all these years.

But no, from what I've seen it's mostly fatties making excuses for themselves "I'm trying to fix my relationship with food!" shut the fuck up. It's not a "relationship" you just need to eat smaller portions, not as many portions, and maybe skip the donuts for awhile. It's not easy sometimes, I know, but giving yourself these quirky little phrases is just enabling yourself.

Truth nuke. They weren't content with truth bomb, so they had to upgrade it to nuke. I just hate how hyperbolic everyday speech has become.
Truth nuke rhyme so it's automically superior
There's also the 3rd world version of this concept that has become normalized in the anglosphere.
"3rd world version" and it's a 1st world invention

Normalize. I know I'm definitely not the first person here to gripe about this one but I'm seeing it more than ever and it makes me want to rake my fingernails down my face. "We need to normalize this, we need to normalize that..." No we fucking don't.

Heard it a lot before, but it didn't become a current_year buzzword until the media all started saying they had to team up and not normalize Trump (an exceptionally normal guy, for a politician).

Normalize mincing journalists.

"Teehee, it's just porn!"
Or some "wrongthinking", like "spicy content" meaning something mildly critical of unrestricted immigration.

"We need to normalize this, we need to normalize that..." No we fucking don't.
SJWs also use it to REE against making what they don't like normal, even when such already is.

Like when they go "normalizing heteronormativity" or some such BS.

"Brother Wars"

No, fuck off. Stop trying to make war "muh le hecking brothers and sisters" shit. We fight, they fight, end of story.

That one drives me up a wall because in general, if something is normal, it's self-evidently normal, you don't need to have some sort of campaign to make people accept it. The only real exception I can think of is that campaign the UN held to normalize using a toilet, but that was India so I'm not going to hold it to the same standards as the real world.

Same thing with "heteronormativity," and (while I see it less often) "cisnormativitt," especially when it's used to criticize media, medical journals, etc. The world is built upon "heteronormativity." That's what biology is, that's how the brain is wired, so of course the stories people tell are going to center around that type of relationship as opposed to solo poly lesbian muslim amputee because that's the default operating mode of the mammalian brain. Like "cisgender," it's another example of progressive retards inventing a word to try to make what's actually normal seem as though it's not the default when it very obviously is.

I've never heard anyone use the term "brother wars" who wasn't an insufferable fucking douchebag.
I've only seen it in meme pictures like a human and a monkey hugging each other.
It's been around for a good while but, "first world problems", drives me to distraction.
My autism can't handle when someone refers to a nation that's part of NATO as a third world nation, and is somewhat bothered by people referring to nations formerly belonging to the warsaw pact as third world nations. Although the latter I can cope with since the warsaw pact is gone therefore they're no longer aligned.🧩🧩🧩

Spokesperson. Just say spokesman or spokeswoman depending on the sex of the person. Seems kind of sexist to claim to be tolerant by changing the term wile refusing to use the term spokeswoman.
Why is it "sexist" to differentiate men from women anyway?
This was already happening in the mid-90s when colleges were gung-ho with their emphasis on political correctness. The required writing style guides from the time invariably had a section devoted to discontinuing the use of these words.

Like @Evan Kor and @ToroidalBoat, I couldn't understand why a male couldn't be called a spokesman and a woman be called a spokeswoman with "spokesperson" being used only when the person in the position was unknown.

This was also the same time, other groups promoted inclusive langauge usage which boiled down to removing male references and keeping the female ones intact. 🤷‍♂️

Content creator.
As a corollary and quasi-thread tax, I'll add the phrase "Digital content creator." Any time I see this, I interpret it as, "I post whatever I want on the internet in hopes the platform pays me for it."

I know some of them are probably creating legitimately wholesome, harmless content, but I always assume the worst when I see "content creator" anywhere.
I know someone who tried positing positive wholesome content on social media in an effort to make money that way, but I still associate the phrase with porn or laziness.

My workplace calls mistakes/result errors "coaching opportunities" which is more of that awful "soft" "friendly" corpo speak.
In the very limited instances when a mistake was made that wasn't serious enough to result in discipline or firing, I can see calling it a learning experience. Any other term or usage comes across as pretentious.

In the past, I may have mentioned the soft language teachers are encouraged to use instead of telling misbehaving kids to knock it off. Not all teachers seem to be on board with that because I know a number of teachers who couldn't wait to retire after their 30 years of service because bad student behavior is getting worse and the soft friendly approach to addressing the bad behavior isn't working at all.

Like "cisgender," it's another example of progressive retards inventing a word to try to make what's actually normal seem as though it's not the default when it very obviously is.
The first time someone asked me, "Whats your cisgender?" I had to look it up to even know how to answer the question.
(E: I can't spell.)

Bot. Like so many other terms, it's become meaningless through overuse. Suddenly, you're a "bot" if someone doesn't like your opinion-generally a political opinion. Yeah, okay. Touch grass faggot.

Eh, its pretty true all in all though. Our problem may range from selling some fags rebottled clean water as a premium product and becoming millionaires or remaining on welfare a bit longer, whereas your average jeet has to worry if half a cup of water he has to drink for an entire day still has literal shit in it or not.

Bot is like sheeple without ANY sort of brain or feeling aspect to it. If your opinion is soulless and thus robotic, then you're worse than a sheep.

I still think “grifter” is worse. A bot is fully unthinking and sheep are considered misguided, but to claim anyone who disagrees with you is a grifter is to assert that nobody serious can genuinely hold different opinions and instead must be hoping to get something by standing against you. It is arrogance of the highest degree, by people that seemingly can only believe that consensus is genuine.
