I wish our prisons were alot more like that. I feel like if thats how things were, we'd have less problems in society. Like I get the desire to punish people and I entierly agree that sometimes you need to use it to protect the public from violent people. But if some guy non violently steals a car, I dont think 5 years trying to avoid rapes and stabbings while stuck with corrupt cops is going to have a good outcome. From what I understand their prisons are actually focused more on punishment (hence why this negro has to actually work for the first time in his life), unlike e. g. Scandinavian prisons focused on trying to "fix" the prisoners (and that's how you get e. g. daily bombings in Sweden, with only a tiny violent minority).

While I'm disappointed with the sentence, it's understandable that Korea don't want to be on the hook for feeding and housing this dipshit for much longer.

People can handwave it as petty public disorder or whatever, but I imagine he could seem quite menacing to normal people, particularly if they have children in tow and he's screeching rape threats at them. Plus, the "industry" of nuisance streaming needs to be destroyed, so sending a strong message of 0 tolerance is important.
